Meghan Markle’s forgotten British thriller is now available to watch for free
As a fan who has been following Meghan Markle’s career since her days on Suits, I must say that it’s quite intriguing to see her early work like Anti-Social becoming available again. It’s a trip down memory lane, reminding us of the time before she became the Duchess of Sussex and graced our screens with her regal presence.
Meghan Markle’s forgotten British movie Anti-Social has become available to watch for free.
2015’s joint UK-Hungarian production centers around a thriving street artist. His actions put his own future at risk as he becomes entangled in helping his lawbreaking sibling during a heated gang conflict.
Prime Video has now made the film free to watch via its Freevee service.
The movie, titled “Anti-Social,” hails from writer and director Reg Traviss (known for “Joy Division”), and features Gregg Sulkin of “Runaways” alongside Markle, a former cast member of “Suits.” Interestingly, in 2018, she married Prince Harry, and since then, she is now known as the Duchess of Sussex.
Upon its premiere, the film garnered a mix of mediocre to poor critiques, earning a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 25%.
In a two-star critique for The Observer, film critic Mark Kermode described it as an “underwhelming crime heist” that felt out of place next to dreary conversations about the political aspects of graffiti art.
In a more upbeat critique for The Times, Kate Muir commended the film for its vibrant enthusiasm and amusement. Despite this, she noted that the London underworld setting and frequent use of the colloquial “blud’n’bruv” dialect felt somewhat excessive.
After the announcement in 2016 that she was dating Prince Harry, the film Anti-Social was re-released in cinemas with a version that emphasizes the criminal aspects of its plot. Director Carly Traviss expressed optimism that this focus would attract interest from an international audience.
In a recent development, the television series “Suits,” previously concluded in 2019, experienced a revival last year when it became available on streaming platforms. This renewed interest resulted in the creation of a fresh spin-off titled “Suits: L.A.
Anti-Social is available to watch now via Amazon Freevee. Suits is available to stream on Netflix and BBC iPlayer in the UK.
