Meghan Markle ‘very relaxed and happy’ on set of new film with Lily Collins as she makes return to acting

I’m so thrilled to hear that Meghan Markle is really enjoying herself while filming her new movie with Lily Collins! From what I’ve read, she seems incredibly relaxed and happy to be back to acting, and it’s just wonderful to see.

After stepping away from acting eight years ago to become a member of the royal family, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, age 44, is rumored to be portraying herself in an upcoming movie called Close Personal Friends.

She was spotted filming in Pasadena, California with her fellow actors Lily, Brie Larson, and Jack Quaid.

Details about the story are currently secret, but the script was written by Isaac Aptaker, who is known for his work on This Is Us, and Jason Orley is directing the film.

From what I’m hearing, Meghan’s handling everything with incredible grace. People close to her are saying she’s just genuinely lovely and very sweet, which is so wonderful to see.

A source told PEOPLE that she has a minor part in the project and was filming on set today.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I finally met her and she was even more amazing than I imagined! She just seemed so genuinely happy and at peace, and she took the time to introduce herself to everyone – she was incredibly sweet and so, so down-to-earth. I’m still completely floored!

Daily Mail has contacted a representative for Meghan for comment. 

According to a source, this is a significant step for Meghan, allowing her to focus on work she’s passionate about.

‘She has been swamped with offers but this one felt right.

Prince Harry is very supportive and just wants Meghan to be happy and pursue what she loves.

Meghan became famous for playing Rachel Zane on the popular TV show Suits. She also appeared in several movies, including Horrible Bosses, Get Him To The Greek, and Remember Me.

Harry and Meghan stepped down as working royals in 2020 and moved to the US.

The Duchess of Sussex previously claimed she struggled to get acting roles in her early career. 

She explained that while she got many auditions, she was often turned down by directors, which really damaged her confidence over time.

According to experts, the former royal is facing challenges in defining her role as she balances her As Ever business, public speaking, and fashion ambitions.

The Duchess also admitted in a recent podcast that she had ‘sometimes’ missed acting. 

In a 2015 blog post, she fondly recalled how her role on Suits had transformed her life. She wrote, ‘I remember that day like it was yesterday – I actually felt my cheeks hurt from smiling so much!’

As Meghan Markle’s relationship with Prince Harry became serious and public in late 2016, her future on the show Suits became uncertain.

According to Tom Bower’s 2022 biography, Revenge, the show’s writer, Aaron Korsh, originally intended to remove Meghan Markle’s character from the show at the end of the 2017 season.

To reflect Meghan Markle’s new life as a royal and give the show a fresh start, the writers decided to have her character, Rachel, move away from New York.

Tom Bower, after speaking to 80 people who knew Harry and Meghan, said that Nick Collins, Meghan’s agent, didn’t seem enthusiastic when he learned about the couple’s plans.

She wasn’t getting any significant acting offers. No established Hollywood directors were considering her for roles in films or TV shows, and her career stalled as she’d worried it would. As a result, her earnings dropped considerably after 2017.
