Meghan Markle rebrands newest venture: So long, American Riviera Orchard. Hello, As Ever?
Meghan Markle, born and raised in Los Angeles, plans to adopt a more globally focused strategy for her upcoming lifestyle venture instead of focusing primarily on California.
Meghan Markle, who is known for her role in ‘Suits’, unveiled on Tuesday morning that she has renamed her Santa Barbara-inspired orchard to the name ‘As Ever’. In an Instagram post, she shared, “The secret’s out! I can hardly believe we managed to keep it hidden for so long.” This is a playful way of expressing her excitement about sharing the news with her fans.
In a recent post, I (Meghan) expressed that the phrase ‘As Ever’ signifies ‘just as it has been’ or ‘in the same fashion as always.’ For those who have been following my journey since The Tig days, you’ll recognize this sentiment holds true for me.
Meghan Markle recently unveiled her brand’s rebranding, which she had hinted at back in April 2024 when she first introduced American Riviera Orchard. At the time, a representative described American Riviera Orchard as embodying everything that Meghan cherishes – family, cooking, hosting events, and home decoration. In her selfie-video, the 43-year-old Duchess, who is married to Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, stated that As Ever will build upon these themes without confining herself to products solely produced or grown in Santa Barbara, their residential area. The couple purchased a large estate in Montecito, an upscale community on the southern coast of Santa Barbara, in 2020. This neighborhood is also home to notable figures like Oprah Winfrey and Brad Pitt.

However, not everyone was enamored with the American Riviera Orchard, particularly its name.
In August, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office denied Meghan’s application due to the proposed mark being predominantly descriptive of a location. As reported last month by Vanity Fair, a local resident from Montecito also criticized Meghan for trying to present the neighborhood as her lifestyle comeback, labeling it as “a form of overt salesmanship.

Meghan’s upcoming lifestyle series titled “With Love, Meghan” is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in March.
Previously known as the host of “Archetypes”, she expressed enthusiasm to fans about going back to her original lifestyle pursuits. “This is who I am,” she stated. “I haven’t been able to express it in the same manner for the past few years, but now I can.
