Megan Thee Stallion recovering after hospitalization for ‘extreme exhaustion, dehydration’

Megan Thee Stallion had to end her recent “Moulin Rouge” show early and was hospitalized Tuesday evening because she wasn’t feeling well and was experiencing worrying symptoms. She is now recovering.

A representative for the 31-year-old rapper confirmed to The Times on Wednesday that doctors determined her recent health issues were caused by severe exhaustion, dehydration, constricted blood vessels, and a slowed metabolism. The Grammy-winning artist, known for her hit song “Savage,” received medical care and has since been released to recover at home.

Megan Thee Stallion was taken to a hospital Tuesday night after feeling unwell during her performance, according to TMZ. The rapper recently started a series of shows in the “Moulin Rouge” musical at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, where she’s playing the role of Zidler, taking over from Bob the Drag Queen. New York City firefighters responded to the theater because someone was having difficulty breathing, TMZ reported.

Megan Thee Stallion won’t be performing in Wednesday’s shows, according to the production’s website, but she’ll be returning to the stage soon.

I was so relieved to hear that Megan is doing better! Her rep just put out a statement saying she’s incredibly thankful for all the support she’s received and is planning to be back on stage as Zidler in Moulin Rouge this Thursday. That’s fantastic news – I’ve been worried about her and can’t wait to see her perform again!
