Mega Metagross psychs up for a Pokémon GO Raid Day debut

The Iron Leg Pokémon comes with a new boost in an upcoming Raid Day debut.

October starts with a new addition to Pokémon GO: Mega Metagross! Players can battle and catch it during a special Raid Day event.

Metagross is a powerful Steel-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO, even without its Mega Evolution, and is considered one of the best – ranking sixth among Steel-type attackers. Its Shadow form is even stronger, moving it up to fourth place for Steel-type attacks and making it a top ten attacker against both Psychic- and Bug-type Pokémon.

Okay, so Metagross is seriously powerful. It’s got *four* brains, which basically makes it a walking supercomputer – it can analyze battles like crazy. But it’s not just smarts, either. It’s super strong and uses all four of its legs to pin down opponents. It’s a really intimidating Pokémon to face!

Mega Metagross Raid Day in Pokémon GO

Mega Metagross Raid Day is happening on October 4th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in your local time. Make sure to save the date!

Event bonuses

  • The cap for using Remote Passes will increase to 20, from 5 p.m. of October 3 to 8 p.m. of October 4 PDT.
  • In addition to the free Raid Pass that you get if you don’t have one per day, you’ll also receive five more passes, free of charge.
  • Increased odds for encountering a Shiny Metagross after every raid.

XP Celebration Event extra bonuses

Similar to the Mega Camerupt Raid Day, this Mega Metagross event happens during the ongoing XP Celebration. This means players will get extra benefits, including:

  • Double XP from catching Pokémon with Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
  • An additional 3,000 XP for clearing raids.
  • An additional 3,000 XP for clearing Max Battles.

Mega Metagross’ featured attack

Metagross caught during the Raid Day event will know the Fast Attack Shadow Claw. After the event, players can also teach their Metagross Shadow Claw using an Elite Fast TM.

Mega Metagross Raid Day Pokémon GO Event Ticket
