Mega Man Games Could Be Released ‘On an Ongoing Basis’ According to Capcom
As a long-time gamer and avid fan of the Mega Man series, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing Capcom’s recent announcements. It’s been far too long since we last saw our beloved Blue Bomber in action! Six years is a significant gap between games, and as someone who grew up with Mega Man, I’ve missed the thrill of mastering each new level and defeating the latest rogue’s gallery of Robot Masters.
As a dedicated gamer, I’m thrilled to share that Capcom has some exciting projects in the pipeline! Not only are they exploring the possibility of creating new installments for franchises like Marvel vs. Capcom and SNK vs. Capcom, but they’re also brainstorming ideas to release Mega Man games more frequently. So, get ready for some epic battles and innovative gameplay – it’s going to be an amazing journey!
Capcom expressed their appreciation for Mega Man being one of their prized intellectual properties, and they are actively thinking about developing new games for it. (VGC)
Approximately six years have passed since the debut of Mega Man 11, and during this time, the Blue Bomber has kept a low profile. The only exception being the rollout of the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection on PS4 last year; unfortunately, this title also bypassed Xbox, much like the recently announced Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection.
Prior to Mega Man 11, the most recent mainline Mega Man game was Mega Man 10 from 2010. Before that, Mega Man 9 came out in 2008. Capcom’s schedule for releasing new Mega Man games has become less frequent in more recent times. However, there is hope that this trend may be about to change and we’ll get to see more of the Blue Bomber in the future.
