Meet Syd Ortiz in FBI season 7, episode 4 (Preview)
As a gamer who’s spent countless hours solving mysteries and outsmarting villains in various games, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation when it comes to new characters in shows like FBI. The introduction of Syd Ortiz in season 7 is intriguing, especially given the personal connection her character brings to the table.
Just prior to discovering that Katherine Renee Kane was departing from the FBI during its seventh season, it was also announced that Lisette Olivera would be joining the show. The character Syd Ortiz is introduced in FBI’s seventh season, episode 4.
Unfortunately, I have some disappointing news. Despite initial plans for Olivera to become a regular series character throughout this season, it won’t be the case anymore. The issue is that her portrayal of the role seems too youthful, leading the show’s creators to make a change in direction.
Yet, it doesn’t imply that Syd isn’t eager to encounter the character. Instead, the introduction holds a special significance for Syd.
Syd’s sister is one of the victims in FBI season 7, episode 4
The New York Field Office will need to deal with a kidnapper and rapist. This may be a serial killer as well, but for now, we just know about kidnapping and rape. Syd comes to Isobel for help when her sister is a victim of the suspect.
Syd hails from a specialized team known as the Behavioral Analysis Unit. This might remind “Criminal Minds” enthusiasts of certain plotlines. The BAU’s role is to delve into the psychological profiles of UnSubs, attempting to understand their mindset and foresee their actions, which helps in locating potential victims.
Here’s an attempt at paraphrasing in first-person perspective as a gamer:
Check out the promo and synopsis for FBI season 7, episode 4:
When the sister of FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit profiler Sydney Ortiz is the victim of an attempted kidnapping and sexual assault, Sydney seeks help from Isobel and the team in tracking down a meticulous serial offender who leaves no evidence behind.
FBI airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS. Catch up the following day on Paramount+.
