Steven Bartlett proposed to his girlfriend, Melanie Lopes, on Christmas Day while they were on a romantic getaway in Morocco. Melanie is a yoga enthusiast, and they’ve been together for a long time.
As a lifestyle observer, I have to say, the recent engagement announcement took a lot of people by surprise! It seems Steven Bartlett of ‘The Diary Of A CEO’ has kept his relationship pretty private – he hadn’t shared any photos or mentioned his now-fiancée on social media before the news broke. It’s refreshing to see someone prioritize keeping certain aspects of their life personal, even with a large following.
I’ve noticed something interesting about Melanie and Steven’s Instagram – she frequently shares photos of their life in LA, and Steven is always in them! It’s sweet to see him pop up so often, while Melanie tends to keep a lower profile on her own page.
The couple, both 33, have been together for seven years since connecting on Instagram in 2016. They both live in Los Angeles and are dedicated to their individual careers.
Melanie, who is French-Portuguese, runs Bali Breathwork, a company that organizes week-long retreats and events for women. These gatherings, held in various locations worldwide, center on themes of self-love, empowerment, and building strong connections between women.
Melanie is a breathwork and embodiment guide who also runs a thriving business. She helps people connect with themselves through mindful breathing and physical awareness.

She’s helped thousands of people use mindful breathing to let go of what no longer serves them, reconnect with their inner selves, and find a sense of peace and wholeness.
The future bride is also working on growing her Instagram page, where she connects with her yoga community of over 137,000 followers.
Steven, a wealthy businessman worth an estimated £320 million and known for his role on Dragons’ Den, dated Melanie for a year. They briefly separated while he concentrated on expanding his business, but later resumed their relationship.
Realizing he couldn’t live without Melanie, Steven made a 22-hour journey to Bali. Melanie was leading a yoga retreat there at the time, and Steven went to win her back. They’ve been happily together ever since, and their relationship continues to grow stronger.
Daily Mail revealed the joyful news that the pair got engaged earlier this week.
Steven explained that he’d been secretly planning the engagement ring for years. He overheard his partner talking with a friend about rings around four years ago, and started paying attention to the styles she liked. He even secretly saved pictures of rings she’d pinned online, gathering ideas for the perfect proposal.
I’ve kept a folder on my phone for three or four years with pictures of things she’s liked. Yesterday, we were in New York and I visited a jeweler a few trusted friends recommended. They created the ring for us.
Steven said he used to fear while he was successful he would be lonely in a big house.

He explained that Mel provides him with stability. He also anticipates eventually starting a family, which will bring with it new commitments and obligations.
To me, being a good person means being reliable and supportive – both giving and receiving help from others, and I really value those connections.
On Maggie Sellers Reum’s ‘Hot Smart Rich’ podcast, Steven shared more about Melanie, saying she understands him like no one else. He explained that because she sees all sides of him, he truly values her opinions and considers them carefully, adding that she is a very special person.
She’s pretty much the opposite of me in a lot of ways. I often tell my friends she seems like a perfect, almost otherworldly, person – like an angel who came down to Earth.
We’ve been together for nearly seven years, and I really admire her – she embodies the person I hope to become.
I’m a huge fan of Steven Bartlett and his podcast, The Diary of a CEO. It’s consistently at the top of the charts here in the UK, and honestly, it’s easy to see why – the interviews are so captivating, and he gets incredible guests! Millions of us tune in every month, and I’m definitely one of them.
Since 2017, Steven has interviewed many well-known people, including Kamala Harris, Louis Tomlinson, Davina McCall, Lewis Capaldi, and Simon Cowell.
He’s the youngest Dragon on the BBC show Dragons’ Den, working with well-known investors like Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden. He frequently invests in promising new businesses.

Steven came to the UK from Botswana when he was just two years old. He left university at 18 to focus on building a career as an entrepreneur.
He had a falling out with his parents, especially his mother. She was deeply hurt, feeling Steven had wasted the educational opportunities she herself never had.
Despite his earlier challenges, Steven achieved significant success with The Social Chain, his social media marketing agency. It was valued at £300 million when it first became a publicly traded company.
Steven has a packed year ahead! In addition to planning his wedding, he’ll be back for the new season of Dragons’ Den and will continue working on his highly popular podcast.
Last October, Steven.com – the company behind his various media projects, including Flight Story – was estimated to be worth £320 million.
Steven believes this will allow him to create a leading platform for online creators, similar to Disney, serving the massive and growing industry of people who earn money through platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, and YouTube.
