A well-known actor from the Marvel Cinematic Universe jokingly referred to themselves as “your third-favorite Thunderbolt” before returning for the new movie, Avengers: Doomsday. The Thunderbolts team was revealed in May 2025 and quickly became popular with fans, promising a long-lasting and interesting group – even though the team’s formation was based on a deception. The team includes several established and beloved characters from the MCU’s 17-year history, with varying levels of popularity.

Actor Wyatt Russell, known for playing John Walker, shared a video on Instagram accepting a challenge to sign a petition supporting the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. The video, posted on the Lake Hour Instagram page – which Russell co-owns and is associated with an alcoholic beverage company – began with Russell jokingly referring to himself as “your third-favorite Thunderbolt” before addressing the challenge.

Wyatt Russell reprised his role as John Walker, also known as U.S. Agent, in the 2025 Marvel film Thunderbolts. This was his second appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following his debut in the 2021 Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, where he took on the mantle of Captain America after Steve Rogers stepped down. After the events of Thunderbolts, Walker joined a new team called the “New Avengers,” continuing his heroic work with characters like Yelena Belova, the Winter Soldier, and the Red Guardian.
