It appears a recent report suggests that MCU Phase 7 may revisit some key plot points from Phase 5, which could potentially stir up debates among fans. Since the release of Avengers: Endgame, several storylines have remained unresolved in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. These include the future of the Eternals, the explorations of Doctor Strange and Clea in the Multiverse, and the introduction of Hercules – all of which haven’t received any further development.
One significant plot twist occurred in one of the franchise’s most debated productions, titled “Secret Invasion.” The conclusion of this series left several aspects unresolved, such as Emelia Clark’s character G’iah and the consequences of the Anti-Alien Act for the broader Star Wars universe. However, these uncertainties might be resolved with the upcoming Phase 7 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Based on reports from an insider named Alex Perez, it’s suggested that Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Phase 7 might tackle the conclusion of “Secret Invasion” by reintroducing the Skrulls.
As a dedicated fan participating in one of his regular Q&A sessions, I was among those who inquired about the enigmatic extraterrestrial species with transformative abilities. In response, Perez confirmed that these shape-shifting aliens would indeed contribute to the exciting narrative of the forthcoming Marvel storytelling phase.
Could you tell me if the Skrulls will continue to be involved in the upcoming cosmic part of the saga and if their tale will carry on? (Alex)
Alex Perez: “Yes.”
According to the latest reports, the Skrulls, who were previously compelled to leave Earth due to the enactment of an Alien Eviction Law, apparently still reside in New Asgard, overseen by Tessa Thompson’s character, Valkyrie.
Emilia Clarke’s character, the Skrull known as G’iah, continues to conceal herself somewhere on Earth. She has secretly joined forces with MI6, under the leadership of Olivia Colman’s character, Sonya Falsworth.
The seventh phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is expected to commence following the premiere of “Avengers: Secret Wars” on December 17, 2028. As of now, no official projects have been unveiled for this initial part of the post-Multiverse Saga storyline. However, speculations are rife that movies such as “Black Panther 3”, a new “Doctor Strange” installment, and the much-anticipated “Young Avengers” title could be in development.
How Will the Skrulls Come Back in the MCU?

For a substantial period in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first two phases, the Skrulls played a crucial role. But after the underwhelming response to “Secret Invasion”, there was speculation among fans about whether these shape-shifting beings would reappear in the franchise following such a Skrull-centric project.
Based on a recent study, it appears that the Skrulls may continue their involvement in the superhero series. Exactly where or how they might reappear is still uncertain.
In “Secret Invasion,” the main representative of the Skrull species in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, played by Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, was sadly no more. But instead, audiences found a new Skrull character named G’iah to root for moving forward.
As a movie enthusiast, I can’t help but feel that Emilia Clarke’s incredibly potent Skrull character could become the window we peek through to understand and empathize with the Skrull predicament for many years to come.
In addition, it’s possible that the Skrull’s quest for a new planet to call home might factor into Phase 7. Perhaps a future Captain Marvel film could depict Brie Larson’s character assisting the alien race in finding and establishing a new home, given their growing unfavorable status on Earth.
