Yet, this doesn’t make it a completely flawless cinematic universe, as demonstrated by how it has handled villains up until now.

In any superhero tale, villains play a crucial role but can be challenging to execute effectively. Typically, it’s expected that heroes emerge victorious, resulting in villains either being imprisoned, killed, or banished. This approach has served well for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) heroes thus far. However, The Fantastic Four deviates slightly from this pattern. Given their status as Marvel’s founding family, they have been accompanied by villains who have endured just as long as they have. It is essential for the MCU to manage this dynamic appropriately.

Galactus will first appear in the film “First Steps,” while Doctor Doom is set to feature in “Avengers: Doomsday.” Given their formidable nature, it seems unlikely that either villain can be defeated in a single movie. Furthermore, given his history of conflicts with characters like Mister Fantastic, it’s plausible that Namor, who was introduced in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” may reappear prior to the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga.

Galactus represents an indomitable cosmic titan who devours planets, not necessarily defeated but rather diverted from consuming Earth temporarily. On the other hand, Doom poses a persistent danger to the Fantastic Four, consistently concocting troubles for our beloved heroes. Moreover, Namor is not merely a stereotypical antagonist; he possesses heroic attributes in various narratives, and his tale may unfold into a more compelling saga than what was depicted in “Wakanda Forever.

Unlike Thanos or Kang, Doctor Doom has not given much hint of his arrival in the MCU beyond official announcements. To the characters within the MCU, he remains a complete enigma, unexplored up until now. However, the MCU needs to be strategic in how it portrays the heroes defeating him in “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars,” ensuring that the character is not made irrelevant for future storylines.

From a movie enthusiast’s perspective, it would be an immense oversight to merely introduce Doctor Doom in “Avengers: Doomsday“, only for him to vanish again in “Avengers: Secret Wars“. Regardless of whether it’s Robert Downey Jr. reprising the role or a new actor stepping into the character, what truly matters is that the Fantastic Four story isn’t complete without Doctor Doom. “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” offers an opportunity to bring these formidable adversaries into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it must lay the groundwork for future appearances.
