As a long-time fan of NCIS, I find myself eagerly anticipating Season 22. The series has always been about change and growth, and this season promises to be no exception.
Over the course of time, there have been numerous transformations within NCIS. As we approach Season 22, it seems that further developments are on the horizon. It appears that one of these might be Timothy McGee climbing higher in his professional journey.
In the debut of NCIS‘s Season 22, we’ll uncover more about Jessica Knight’s current situation. Surprisingly, she finds herself in a predicament, which complicates matters as the rest of the team are engrossed in different tasks, making it challenging for them to come to her aid.
For McGee, it’s about his career future. This does seem a little contradictory to things in Season 19, so let’s take a look at what to expect.
McGee is eyeing up a promotion in NCIS Season 22
Previously, during Season 19, an opportunity arose for McGee to assume leadership of the team following Gibbs’ departure. However, he declined this offer, resulting in Alden Parker, portrayed by Gary Cole, taking on the role as team leader instead.
Yet, McGee is seeking advancement in his role, not to head a team specifically. This action shouldn’t be perceived as hypocritical given the circumstances. It’s clear that taking over from Gibbs, given how and why he departed, would have been challenging for McGee.
It seems like the advancement in Knight’s career is causing some concern for McGee. He aspires for the role of Deputy Director. The situation might trouble him since Knight joined after him and was promoted over him. This isn’t about Knight being a woman, but rather about her being relatively new to the team receiving a promotion.
Based on TVLine’s hint for the upcoming season, it appears there might be an opening for a Deputy Director role. Given that McGee is settled locally, it seems unlikely he would relocate his family due to job and school considerations. The intriguing part is whether he will secure this position or come to terms with doing his best work being part of the team. Sometimes, we may aspire for new roles only to discover they take us away from our most cherished duties.
The upcoming season of NCIS, which is number 22, will air for the first time on Monday, October 14 at 8 PM or 7 PM in Central Time on CBS. Starting from the next week, it will be aired every week at 9 PM or 8 PM in Central Time on CBS.
