McBee Dynasty star reveals his final meal before reporting to prison over $4M crop insurance fraud

Steve McBee Sr. is sharing what he’s been doing to enjoy his remaining time before beginning his prison sentence on December 1st.

A 52-year-old man with four children received a two-year prison sentence after admitting to defrauding crop insurance. He will also be under supervision for two years after his release and must repay $4,022,124.

McBee has until 2 p.m. on Monday to turn himself in, so he’s planning to have one final Thanksgiving dinner at home first.

He enjoys cooking and often prepares big meals for family and friends, including siblings and cousins. He plans to smoke a prime rib on his Traeger grill and also cook a turkey.

Three days later, McBee will drive to Yankton, South Dakota, to report to federal prison.

For his final meal on Sunday night, he’s keeping it simple and classic.

He confessed he loved steak, explaining, ‘Being in the cattle business, it’s definitely my favorite meal – steak and potatoes.’ He added that he wasn’t picky about how the potatoes were prepared, enjoying them baked, mashed, or fried.

As the prison date looms, McBee said he is focused on keeping spirits high at home.

‘I don’t want anybody to be sad,’ he explained.

I want to keep everyone’s spirits high and stay positive. Things are looking good. I’ve missed out on a lot of family vacations due to work, and I realize now I shouldn’t have, but I’ve never been able to take a long break myself.

‘So, I guess I’m finally getting a sabbatical, right?’

He also playfully admits that maintaining his physique will be one of his main struggles while in prison.

You know, I was chatting with someone recently who was a little nervous about making a public appearance. He jokingly admitted he was worried people would expect a total makeover after having some time to prepare – like they’d be thinking, ‘Wait, you had months, and that’s what you came up with?’ It’s funny how much pressure we put on ourselves to look a certain way, isn’t it?

It’s definitely nerve-wracking! I need to give it my all when I go in. I’ve heard Yankton is a well-established school, and they say their gym is great and the food is better than average. I’m focusing on the good things to stay positive.

Honestly, what’s really getting to McBee is his son Cole’s wedding. He’s just devastated thinking about how his situation is messing with Cole and Kacie Adkinson’s plans. It’s breaking his heart, you know? He’s so worried about everything being perfect for them, and he feels terrible if he’s ruining it.

The couple, who share 10-month-old daughter Blair, got engaged on November 7.

‘When I’m out, we’re going to have a big wedding,’ he said.

‘The best case scenario is I would get a pardon or get home early, like in nine or 10 months.

They’re hoping to get married next fall, but if their dad can’t be there, they’ll likely postpone it until spring. It’s a difficult situation, but I’m confident they’ll be alright and we’ll all manage.

Seasons 1 and 2 of McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys are now streaming on Peacock.
