McBee Dynasty star gets engaged with massive 3-carat ring… two weeks after father jailed for fraud

Despite ongoing family issues, Cole McBee, featured on the show The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys, recently had something positive to celebrate.

On Friday, the Bravo star surprised his girlfriend, Kacie Adkison, with a marriage proposal and a beautiful 3.16-carat ring.

McBee shared with People that Kacie was incredibly perceptive – she always seemed to know what was happening – and they had managed to keep the surprise under wraps. His main goal was to genuinely surprise her, and he succeeded.

The proposal was made even more heartwarming with their 10-month-old daughter, Blair, included in the special moment.

We made sure to include our daughter in everything, because she means the world to us. As McBee explained, she’s the center of our lives.

This joyful news follows just weeks after Cole’s father, Steve McBee Sr., received a 24-month prison sentence after admitting to crop insurance fraud.

A 52-year-old father of four, and star of the reality show McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys, received a two-year prison sentence on Thursday, as ordered by Judge Stephen R. Boug.

In addition to his prison sentence, he will serve two years of supervised release and must pay $4,022,124 in restitution, according to People magazine.

Steve Sr. has until Monday, December 1 by 2pm to self-surrender.

The prosecutors had asked the judge to give the TV personality a prison sentence of 41 months, followed by three years of supervised release.

The patriarch received messages of support from two of his four sons via social media on Thursday.

Steve Jr. sent a message saying he and the whole family love and support their dad. Cole added that they’ll face whatever comes next as a family, and that it’s now their turn to take care of him, letting him know they’ve got his back.

Thursday’s sentencing was meant to take place in March but was delayed multiple times.

It comes on the heels of news that the family’s reality show has been renewed for a third season.

Cameras returned to the Missouri ranch to document this week’s events.

The first season, which launched in March 2024, opened with the family’s leader announcing his goal of turning McBee Farm & Cattle Company into a billion-dollar business.

On November 5, 2024, he gave up his right to a grand jury trial and admitted to committing federal crop insurance fraud.

He confessed to committing insurance fraud between 2018 and 2020 by filing false claims.

In 2018, Steve Sr. reported to Rain and Hail – a company backed by federal crop insurance – that his farm yielded 340,476 bushels of corn and 190,171 bushels of soybeans, but this amount was actually lower than what he produced.

His farm actually sold over 1.2 million bushels of corn and almost 416,000 bushels of soybeans.

Because of the inaccurate information provided, the farmer wrongly received $2,605,943 in federal crop insurance payments and an additional $552,980 to help cover the cost of those insurance premiums.

He lied to Rain and Hail insurance to get coverage for the 2019 soybean crop at the McBee farm. Specifically, he claimed soybeans were the first crop planted in some fields, even though wheat had already been harvested from them.

In 2020, the farm planted corn too late in the season, meaning it wasn’t covered by insurance.

However, Steve Jr. provided false plant dates on crop insurance documents to NAU Country Insurance.

The reality show The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys is back for a second season in 2025, now airing on Bravo after previously streaming on Peacock.
