Maya Jama’s ex Ruben Dias ‘reaches out to gorgeous influencers and ex-Love Island star as his bizarre flirting technique is uncovered’ just days after couple’s shock split was revealed

Just after his unexpected breakup with Maya Jama, soccer player Ruben Dias has allegedly been contacting attractive influencers and a past contestant from the reality show Love Island through social media.

Manchester City footballer Jack Grealish, 29, and Love Island presenter Maya Jama, 31, split up three weeks ago. The breakup happened before Maya traveled to Inverness to start filming the new season of Celebrity Traitors.

Sources say the recently single footballer has been using an unusual online flirting method called ‘toe-dipping.’ Fans apparently noticed this behavior even when he was still with Maya.

I’ve noticed this interesting trend online – people will quickly follow someone, hoping for a reaction or follow back. But if nothing happens, they just unfollow and try someone else. It’s like a quick test to see who’s engaging, and if you don’t reciprocate, they’re gone! It feels a little impersonal, but it’s definitely a strategy some people use.

After his breakup, Ruben briefly followed Amelia Marni on social media. Amelia lives in London and is currently in a relationship.

Besides a beautiful blonde TikTok personality named Georgia, there’s no evidence Ruben has ever met or contacted these women.

Fans have noticed a pattern in the footballer’s social media activity, according to The Sun. They say he often starts following women, only to unfollow them the next day.

Back in 2024, one fan commented online about a celebrity they admired, jokingly referring to him as a ‘sex god’ who kept fans amused by repeatedly following, unfollowing, and liking photos of various women on Instagram.

Daily Mail has contacted Ruben’s representatives for comment.

After news of their breakup surfaced, Maya and Ruben removed all photos of each other from their Instagram profiles.

A recent photo she shared from their trip to Rome last month is no longer available, and the Christmas Day post featuring her and Ruben has also been removed.

Ruben removed two photos of Maya from a post about their vacation in May 2025. He also deleted a picture of the Love Island star taken after a trip to Portugal from his social media feed.

Maya didn’t post anything on social media when Ruben and his team won the FA Cup, even though she had been to his games and cheered him on before.

People immediately pointed out that the breakup happened shortly after Manchester City lost the Premier League title to their biggest competitor, Arsenal.

One posted on X: ‘Ruben Dias lost the title and Maya Jama in the same week? It’s tuffff.’

Some people wondered if this meant Ruben Dias would have a fantastic season next year, with one fan tweeting, ‘Ruben Dias is about to dominate next season.’

‘PRIME RUBEN DIAS IS GONNA BE BACK OH MY GODDDDD.’

Maya and Ruben began dating in December 2024. They first met a month earlier at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Manchester.

People close to the couple revealed on Thursday that they’ve decided to split up, feeling the relationship had naturally reached its end. Both are currently very focused on their careers.

Sources say the couple’s breakup was friendly, and they still care deeply for each other.

According to a source, Maya is about to begin a very busy period of filming, and Ruben is completely dedicated to the World Cup. Because of these commitments, they have decided to separate.

According to The Sun, there’s no animosity between the pair. They still care for each other deeply, but with busy schedules and a long period of separation looming, they mutually decided to end the relationship.

Everyone could tell Maya and Ruben were deeply connected. However, as Maya’s job became more demanding and Ruben dedicated more time to football, their relationship faced a turning point.

The breakup was handled with a lot of maturity and was a mutual decision. Both individuals are young and focused on their careers, and they’re each moving into exciting new chapters.

The Daily Mail contacted representatives of Maya Jama and Ruben Dias for comment.
