Maya Jama looks loved-up with boyfriend Ruben Dias as she gives an insight into their romantic trip to Italy

Maya Jama appeared affectionate with her boyfriend, Ruben Dias, during a shared vacation in Italy, offering glimpses into their romantic journey.

It’s believed that the presenter, aged 30, and the footballer, 27, have been discreetly seeing each other for a while now. This all started when the footballer caught Maya’s attention during their encounter at the European Music Awards (EMAs) in November.

It wasn’t until April, during KSI’s Baller League event, that their romantic relationship became officially acknowledged, as they were spotted showing affection publicly.

On a sunny Thursday, Maya shared a set of pictures on Instagram showcasing her stunning look in a triangle swimsuit as she enjoyed the sun on a boat.

She was later diving into the water while Ruben filmed her from the top deck.

Two weeks back, Maya made it public on Instagram that she’s dating Ruben, by posting their first joint video together.

In the video, the Love Island presenter beamed with joy while seated next to the footballer, both traveling towards her residence in a car.

Over the past few months, the presenter has attended several football matches specifically to observe Dias play for Manchester City live.

The video from last month depicted them embracing, with him giving her a quick kiss on the neck while he was dressed down in everyday attire and a hat, all without much attention being drawn to Ruben.

According to a source, Maya and Ruben appeared extremely affectionate, deeply in love, and quite at ease around one another.

‘Though they engaged with others nearby, they often found themselves drawn back together. Their interactions suggest a deep contentment in one another.’

Or simply:
‘They talked to people around them, yet their frequent reunions hint at a strong bond and mutual happiness.’

They’ve recently appeared together in public, marking what seems to be their first outing as a couple; Maya, however, has subtly suggested their relationship through photos of bouquets she’s received on social media.

A day following her presence at Wembley, where she cheered for Ruben as his team Manchester City won 2-0 against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup, they made an appearance at the Baller League.

The Love Island host took her whole family to Wembley to support him.

In the caption, she labeled it “Family Day at Wembley” as she posted a video from the journey to the stadium; her mom Sadie, and her brother Omar, accompanied her in the vehicle.

Maya then shared a snap of the pitch as she watched on – while her family enjoyed the atmosphere.

According to The Sun, it’s being said that the relationship between the two has taken a more serious turn following the center back’s introduction of Maya to his mother, Bernadette.

Two weeks ago, the news emerged that Ruben’s mother began following Maya on Instagram.

In March’s recent global football pause, Maya traveled to Lisbon to catch him representing Portugal on their national squad.

In the José Alvalade Stadium, she was spotted cheering on Portugal as they clinched a 5-2 win against Denmark during the second leg of their Nations League quarter-final match.

As an over-the-moon enthusiast, I happened to catch a glimpse of the presenter, savoring some vino alongside a companion, in an exclusive VIP suite – a place typically reserved for players’ inner circle and kin.

At 3:30 am the next day, Maya shared a photo on social media, capturing the moment she and her partner were celebrating at their cozy, romantic getaway by the fireplace.

The photo appears to have been captured at the footballer’s residence located in the Cascais area of Portugal. The scene suggests a luxurious setting, with a large swimming pool and a fire pit noticeable within the frame.

They apparently began dating in December, as they met at the EMAs in November, an event that occurred in Manchester, a city where Dias performs.

In the days post Valentine’s Day, whispers about my romantic involvement with my partner only grew stronger, as I shared the beautiful bouquet of roses I received upon my return to the UK from Cape Town – a gesture marking the end of the 2025 Love Island All Star season.

Afterward, they were both seen adorning identical Cartier ‘LOVE’ bracelets, priced at £5,050 on the official site.

In an Instagram post prior to his training session for City’s Champions League play-off second leg against Real Madrid in February, it was noticed that Dias was sporting an expensive gift that Jama had previously been seen wearing.

They haven’t spoken about the dating speculations, but earlier in March, Gary Lineker apparently validated their relationship when he referred to the defender as Maya’s “boyfriend” directly to her.

Following the unexpected turn of events, I found myself in agreement with Gary regarding the peculiar behavior exhibited by the Match of the Day host. However, instead of using a label that might be perceived as judgmental, I chose to express my sentiments more delicately, acknowledging his uniqueness.

As a lifestyle expert, I found myself feeling a tad unsettled following an interaction with the ex-England footballer, who seemed to place me in an awkward position, fueling more curiosity around the situation.

She said: ‘Get out! This is why I don’t talk to old people. They’re so weird.’
