Considering the recent feedback, it seems likely the show will jump forward in time and reveal that James and Ruby have split up. The season could begin a while after James’s mother’s death, once the initial shock has settled, and after Ruby has found out. We could then learn how they grew apart through flashbacks or characters explaining what happened.

Okay, so Herbig-Matten’s dialogue totally has me worried – it feels like something awful is about to happen with Ruby and James. Knowing how badly things went the last time James kept her in the dark and shut her out, I really don’t see this ending well. I’m predicting Ruby will put up her defenses immediately when James won’t open up to her, and honestly, I think they’re going to break up because of it.
