Maxie Solters, entertainment publicist who joined a family business, dies at 37
As a seasoned movie critic who has witnessed the rise and fall of countless stars, I must say that the news of Maxie Solters‘ untimely passing has left me both saddened and awestruck. Having traversed the realms of entertainment publicity, acting, and activism, she was truly a beacon of talent and compassion in an industry often devoid of both.
Maxie Solters, a third-generation PR specialist in the entertainment industry who carried on the family tradition started by her father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 37 on Thursday, in Los Angeles.
The unexpected passing of Maxie Solters was revealed in a statement issued by Scoop Marketing, the firm established by her father Larry Solters. The announcement did not disclose the reason for her death or the location where it occurred.
Born on March 22, 1987, and growing up in Sherman Oaks, Solters began working for Scoop in 2012, representing a variety of clients including the Hollywood Bowl, the Kia Forum, and the Music Forward Foundation. In addition to these clients, Scoop also manages acts such as the Eagles, John Mayer, and Dead & Company. Solters’ late grandfather, Lee Solters, who passed away in 2009, was a prominent figure in show business and represented iconic stars like Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, and Michael Jackson.
Prior to venturing into publicity, Maxie Solters earned her theater degree from the University of Southern California and gained experience in film and TV casting in Los Angeles. In addition, she was an actor and a member of SAG, featuring in stage performances and a comedy web series that she herself created and produced.
In her role as an activist, Solters collaborated with organizations like One Billion Rising and V-Day on initiatives aimed at eradicating female violence. According to Scoop’s declaration, “Her unwavering optimism and warm nature impacted countless lives,” creating a lasting impression of love and kindness.
Surviving Solters are her dad and his companion, Carol Greenhut; her mom, Debra Graff; and her long-term partner, Dim Dobrin.
