Max George recently provided a glimpse into his tough journey toward recovery after undergoing unexpected heart surgery towards the end of last year.
36-year-old Max George, known for being the lead vocalist of The Wanted, underwent a pacemaker implantation following an extended hospitalization due to heart problems that occurred in December. He was finally released from the hospital on Christmas Day.
On Wednesday, the artist posted an Instagram video showing him strolling at a leisurely pace on a treadmill, focusing on regaining his physical fitness following surgery.
As I face my journey towards healing with a smile, I raised a triumphant thumb to the camera, demonstrating that positivity is always a choice I make for myself.
Despite the prospect of celebrating Christmas in the hospital, fortunately, he managed to get discharged and went back home, where he joyfully met up with his girlfriend Maisie Smith again.
At the year’s end, Max shared a thoughtful post on Instagram saying: “2024… A year that will forever be etched in my memory!

I’m incredibly grateful for the life I’ve been given. I’m eagerly anticipating the next phase, whatever obstacles it may bring.
Or:
I feel extremely blessed to be living the life I do. I can hardly wait to see what the future holds, even though I know there will likely be hurdles along the way.
Simultaneously, he shared that after his operation, he felt a ‘fluttery sensation’ in his chest.
On New Year’s Eve, Max shared on his Instagram Stories that he had an unusual sensation in his chest, but doctors are still uncertain about the cause.
The star questioned his fans if they had encountered something similar, since he was seeking suggestions before an upcoming examination.
In his video, he mentioned that he will be visiting the hospital the next day for a routine examination since he has been experiencing a persistent sensation of fluttering on the left side of his chest. Remarkably, he is feeling this sensation at the moment as well.
I was curious if any of you have encountered or have some insight about this, as the doctors seem unsure about it themselves.
It could be striking a sensitive spot, and perhaps it will resolve itself naturally over time, or there might be a need to adjust a connection subtly. Regardless, I’m open to hearing more since I’m just conducting research.
‘I know nothing about pacemakers. Any information I could get would be most appreciated.’

After Max revealed that he’s stepped outside for the first time since the incident, he posted a picture of him on an evening stroll with his cherished pitbull, Albert.
He also uploaded an image of his Apple Watch, showing his heart rate at 85 bpm.
He titled the pictures, saying: ‘Out again on the sidewalks… It was wonderful to walk outdoors for the first time in a while… Particularly with my lovely companion by my side’
Supporters inundated his post with heartfelt messages of encouragement and well-wishes for a swift recovery, expressing: ‘Pacemakers truly make a difference! I’m overjoyed to see you improving. Now, you’ll only grow stronger from here. Wishing you a wonderful New Year!’
I’m really happy to see you regaining your momentum and returning to your familiar self. Just remember to pace yourself, and know that everyone is supporting you every step of the way ❤️
‘That’s amazing !!!soo glad ❤️❤️❤️ you got this max !! Can’t wait to see you back on stage again’
