Maura Higgins reignites feud with Olivia Attwood with yet another copycat career move as tensions between the former Love Island stars reach an all-time high

Maura Higgins and Olivia Attwood are clashing again, this time because Maura has seemingly followed in Olivia’s footsteps with a new career venture, according to the Daily Mail.

Trouble between the couple began last year while Maura was on the reality show ‘I’m A Celebrity.’ During the show, she revealed she once used an ex-boyfriend’s toothbrush to clean a toilet as an act of revenge – a story she’d previously suggested was about her split from Curtis Pritchard.

Last November, sources said 34-year-old Maura was reportedly trying to recreate a strategy similar to Olivia’s. Olivia gained popularity on Love Island in 2017 after her breakup with Bradley Dack, who had been unfaithful, and Maura appeared to be attempting a comparable approach to increase her own appeal.

The situation between them grew more strained when they both joined the same PR firm, Dundas. It became uncomfortable because they were often considered for the same projects, leading Olivia, who had started working with the agency earlier, to decide to leave.

Just ten months after Olivia, age 34, started working at the public relations firm Align – a company that helps people advance their careers in the US – Maura has also joined the team.

According to insiders, things are really strained between the former Love Island contestants. There’s a lot of confusion because their current issues seem to be mirroring a similar public disagreement from less than a year ago.

According to a source, many recent events have led people to think Maura is taking cues from Olivia’s career path.

Similar career paths – like appearing on shows such as Love Island and I’m a Celebrity, and being represented by the same talent agencies – began to cause tension.

Ultimately, Olivia decided to leave the PR firm Dundas. She’d joined them before Maura did, but wanted the freedom to develop her own brand independently, without any conflicting projects.

People are starting to feel annoyed that Maura has also signed with PR Align, just like Olivia did months ago. It seems like she’s following in Olivia’s footsteps.

Things are incredibly strained right now. It’s frustrating because Maura’s team has, again, hired the same PR firm that Olivia already works with – there are so many options, but they keep choosing the same one.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve noticed some fascinating career paths! It’s interesting how many stars these days have similar beginnings. Take these two, for example – they both actually started out promoting Monster Energy drinks as ‘Monster Energy Girls’ before becoming household names on shows like Love Island and then taking on the challenges of ‘I’m A Celeb’! It just goes to show you never know where a career might take you.

Olivia was actually the first contestant to appear on both shows, but unfortunately, she had to leave the jungle due to a medical issue.

Sources say Maura has decided to work with Align because of her increasing number of projects in the United States, especially her upcoming role on the American version of The Traitors.

She’s gained fans around the world by hosting “Love Island: The Games” and previously working on “Aftersun,” a show connected to “Love Island USA.”

She’s prioritizing a partnership with a US-based public relations firm to expand her career and focus more of her work in the United States.

Last November, Olivia subtly expressed frustration with Maura on Instagram, suggesting she’s been holding back a lot of information and plans to reveal it all in a future book, promising it will be shocking.

You can copy my team, repeat my ideas, and try to imitate my methods, but it will never be quite the same. It just won’t have the same impact.

Olivia, a star on the show Loose Women and considered a rising face of ITV, first became well-known on the reality show Love Island in 2017, before Maura appeared on the show two years later.

In 2022, she was the first person to appear on ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ after previously being on the show ‘Love Island.’ However, she had to leave the show after just one day because of a health issue.

Last year, Maura joined Danny Jones, Oti Mabuse, and Reverend Richard Coles as a contestant on a jungle-based reality show.

Olivia is busy with multiple projects: she hosts a dating show called Bad Boyfriends and also continues to create documentary series like Getting Filthy Rich and The Price of Perfection.

Her podcast, ‘So Wrong It’s Right,’ has included interviews with notable figures like Chelsea Handler, Frankie Bridge, and Jodie Kidd.

Olivia has 2.5 million Instagram followers, but Maura is even more popular with 4 million.

Maura gained a huge global fanbase as the social host of Love Island US and its Aftersun programme.

The Daily Mail has contacted Maura and Olivia’s spokesperson for comment.
