In a funny moment from the US version of The Traitors, Maura Higgins was upset to discover a broken croissant inside her pricey Hermès Birkin bag.
Just a few weeks into the American version of the game show, former Love Island contestant, age 35, is already a fan favorite.
A video shared on Instagram Friday by drag queen Monet X Change shows the Irish reality star frantically searching through her expensive handbag.
‘What happened to your Birkin?,’ asked Monet trying not to burst into laughs.
Maura was furious to find a croissant broken inside her Birkin bag, exclaiming, ‘Who would put a croissant in there?’ She pointed to the resulting crumbs, adding, ‘It’s a very expensive bag!’ She quickly followed up with a playful smile.
Earlier today, the star of Aftersun caught everyone’s attention in New York City’s Tribeca, looking gorgeous in a detailed trench coat dress and a dark hat.
This video surfaced after Maura had a tense exchange with actor Michael Rapaport on a recent episode of the show.
The popular reality show came back to American television on January 8th, with celebrities including Mark Ballas (Shirley Ballas’ son), Donna Kelce (Travis Kelce’s mother), and Lisa Rinna from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
However, Maura quickly won over viewers after a fiery argument with outspoken actor Michael Rappaport, 55, during a lively discussion.
In the third episode, Maura noticed Michael saying ‘we got rid of’ when talking about contestants who had been eliminated, and she immediately accused him of being a Traitor.
‘Why did you say, “we got rid of”? Does that mean you’re a Traitor?’ she said.
Defending himself, Michael said: ‘Let me tell you something, Maura. I’m as faithful as a faithful-‘
Interrupting him, Maura added: ‘Why did you say “we”? We didn’t – the Traitors did.’
Later, Top Chef’s Kristen Kish noticed Michael using the word “we” again, and pointed it out to him. He playfully responded, “Well, I’ve said a lot of things.”
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen a lot of game plans, but Maura’s is definitely one for the books! She recently shared that she’s starting strong – literally! She’s rocking a cape and is openly hoping to be a Traitor. Her strategy? To eliminate everyone, one by one. Talk about a bold move – she’s definitely embracing the drama!
Honestly, if anyone tries to challenge me during discussions, let them! It feels a little disloyal to start with, but I’ve always believed in being direct and saying what I think. I’m definitely not the type to stay in the background or operate secretly – I prefer to be open and honest about things.
Laughing, she added: ‘That sounded really devious, didn’t it?’
During the show, the reality star wore a bold outfit: a dark green latex catsuit with a short cape.
In June 2025, news surfaced that Maura would be joining the US version of The Traitors, hoping to gain popularity in America.
According to a source, Maura is quickly becoming very popular in the US, and her appearance on The Traitors is helping to boost her profile.
‘The future is bright – and has stars and stripes.’
