Maura Higgins insists that she ‘does not need a man’ amid whirlwind romance with Pete Wicks

Maura Higgins openly admitted that she tends to choose poorly when it comes to men, and emphatically stated that she doesn’t require a romantic partner at this time, as she navigates her fast-paced relationship with Pete Wicks.

It is rumored that the previous participant of Love Island at age 34, who joined I’m A Celeb in 2024, and Peter from TOWIE, aged 36, have been in a relationship since last August.

However, during a recent interview with The Times, Maura confessed that she might not always choose the finest fish in the ocean, but she’s content to date and discover where things lead.

When queried by the publication if her choice in men was poor, she affirmed it was true, then expressed a desire for the joy of being in love.

She shared with the media outlet: ‘I don’t have a strong desire for a partner, but I may go on dates to explore possibilities, and if a connection develops, it will naturally unfold.’

Shortly after returning from “I’m A Celebrity”, Maura and Pete were finally together again, ending weeks of rumors about their relationship.

In a London hotel, the pair happily snapped a picture alongside their friends, embracing and reveling in the joy of Maura’s return from her one-month adventure down under, which took place in Australia.

He quipped: ‘I’ve been George of the Jungle but now it’s time to vote for Maura of the Jungle’.

Previously, it was uncovered by The Mail on Sunday that Pete had ended his romantic involvement with his dance partner Jowita Przystal, as he’s resolved to capture Maura’s affection instead.

According to some sources, Pete confides to his friends that he’s deeply infatuated with the famous jungle personality, whom he’s casually dated for around half a year now.

When he began Strictly and met Jowita, Maura gave up any hope of the relationship continuing.

A friend said: ‘Before Maura entered the jungle, Pete wanted to make their relationship exclusive.

‘But Maura, aware of Pete’s reputation and his close bond with Jowita, decided to slow things down.

‘She gave him an ultimatum: either commit to her or let it go. So she went off a single woman.
