Maura Higgins’ ex Chris Taylor gives brutal verdict on Love Island: All Stars lineup – as he swaps dating for skating ahead of Dancing On Ice launch
2025 All-Stars Lineup: Chris Taylor, a former Love Island contestant, shares his candid opinion.
Following his rise to fame on the ITV2 dating program back in 2019 (where he encountered his former girlfriend Maura Higgins), Chris attempted rekindling love during the inaugural All Stars season, however, he couldn’t establish an enduring bond.
The 34-year-old influencer, about to debut on Dancing On Ice, recently expressed his opinions on the fresh cast members and who he predicts may clash.
Among those previous contestants hoping for improved fortunes upon their return are Olivia Hawkins, Kaz Crossley, Gabby Allen, Luca Bish, Marcel Somerville, and Scott Thomas.
According to Chris, he initially believed that none of the players in the starting lineup would have romantic feelings for one another, as he is well-acquainted with many of them and doesn’t foresee any of them developing such feelings. (TopMob was exclusively informed by Chris)
‘So I don’t know how that will go down.’
Chris mentioned that it’s likely Gabby and Marcel will be involved, as they tend to create some tension among themselves.
Before experiencing a rocky end to their relationship with Arabella Chi, Chris then attempted to pursue Molly Smith, who rejected him. However, things turned out well for Chris in the end, as he went on to win the competition alongside his boyfriend, Tom Clare.
During the premiere of Love Island’s summer season in June, Chris found himself joining ex-Islanders Amy Hart and Indiyah Polak as hosts for The Morning After podcast, and he also sat alongside presenter Maya Jama on the Aftersun discussion panel.
In August, he became a part of the cast on E4’s Celebs Go Dating, where he candidly discussed his previous battles with social anxiety that had adversely affected his love life.
In the year 2020, Chris’s former girlfriend, Maura, made an appearance on “Dancing On Ice.” There were whispers that she may have had a romantic involvement with her dance partner, Alexander Demetriou, during this time. Since then, Alexander has moved on and gotten married again.
In the upcoming season of Dancing On Ice, Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern will be back as hosts. Meanwhile, Chris is getting ready to trade his dating life for dance moves on the ITV program.
In a discussion about his journey so far, the television personality, teamed up with fan-favorite Vanessa Bauer, 28, admitted: “Things got off to a rocky start for me.
The physiotherapist identified that I was stiff and mentioned I had a problem with my inner ear, which further affected my ability to maintain balance.
Initially, my self-assurance was quite minimal. I was decked out in odd-looking gear, including a helmet, wrist guards, elbow protectors, knee pads, and even hip pads.
‘I’ve had groin strain so far, but all I do all day is stretch.
Chris mentioned that his mother, father, and brother will attend the audience during this coming Sunday’s debut event.
He mentioned that his friends from Love Island, Toby, Kaz, and Joe will be attending as well. I’m not entirely sure if they’re reliable though; there’s a chance they won’t show up.
Beyond me in this icy arena also stand notable figures like Ferne McCann from TOWIE, Mollie Pearce from The Traitors, Essex mainstay Dan Edgar, the talented Charlie Brooks formerly of EastEnders, Chelsee Healey from Hollyoaks, and the hilarious Josh Jones. Each brings their unique skills to the ice, making for a challenging yet exciting competition.
Besides Sam Aston from Coronation Street, the cast for this upcoming TV series additionally features Michaela Strachan, Anton Ferdinand, and Sir Steve Redgrave – all set to appear when the show resumes on our screens in the new year.
The modification in the show’s structure was implemented with an aim to minimize any potential discomfort for the celebrities.
According to The Sun, it’s reported that ITV executives have adjusted the dance-off rule so that the contestants won’t need to perform a new dance routine if they land in the bottom two.
Every week, as a die-hard fan, I find myself on tenterhooks, knowing that my idols must not only master their performance routine but also choreograph a dance, should they unfortunately end up in the bottom two.
Currently, there’s a belief that the stars will need to re-familiarize themselves with the performances they delivered for the main event, as it seems the priority of care is considered ‘supreme’ by ITV executives.
Dancing On Ice returns Sunday January 12 at 6.30pm, live on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
