As I delve into this heartrending tale, I can’t help but be moved by the poignant story of Matthew Perry and his loyal assistant, Kazuhiro Iwamasa. Reading through their shared journey, it’s evident that they navigated the tumultuous world of Hollywood together, with Iwamasa standing steadfast as an anchor in the stormy seas of Perry’s life.

Matthew Perry’s residential caretaker admitted guilt for providing the ketamine which led to the tragic demise of the former Friends star, as confirmed by authorities on Thursday.

Currently, Iwamasa is looking at a potential sentence of up to fifteen years behind bars, following an operation that additionally resulted in accusations against four other suspects, among them a Los Angeles physician who provided the lethal substance to Perry.

Previously, it was disclosed by DailyMail.com last November that Iwamasa had been not only residing with Perry but also serving as his aide until the latter’s passing.

On October 28, 2023, the Department of Justice stated that Iwamasa administered a dose of ketamine to Perry, which ultimately proved fatal for him on that same day.

California prosecutors revealed on Thursday that on August 7, Iwamasa, a 59-year-old resident of Toluca Lake, admitted guilt for conspiring to distribute ketamine, an action which led to someone’s death.

According to the Department of Justice, the assistant openly acknowledged that he had administered repeated doses of ketamine to Perry, and this included several injections on October 28, 2023 – the very day Perry passed away – without any formal medical training.

In addition, they arrested Jasveen Sangha, aged 41, nicknamed the ‘Ketamine Queen’ of North Hollywood; Salvador Plasencia, a doctor from Santa Monica; Eric Fleming, 54, of Hawthorne; and Mark Chavez, 54, a doctor from San Diego.

The police acquired text conversations between two physicians discussing the plan to illegally sell ketamine to Perry. In one message, they questioned, ‘Let’s see how much this person will be willing to pay.’ In another, they suggested, ‘Let’s find out.’

Plasencia is charged with conspiracy to distribute ketamine.

As a devoted adherent, I find myself facing numerous allegations, among them operating a place where illicit activities were taking place, specifically drug-related offenses. This includes an intention to distribute methamphetamine and ketamine, multiple counts of distributing ketamine, and altering or falsifying documents related to the ongoing federal investigation, in addition to two such counts for ketamine.

Fleming openly acknowledged providing the lethal dose of ketamine to Perry, and on August 8th, he confessed and was found guilty for conspiring to distribute ketamine and for distributing it directly, leading to Perry’s death.

Fleming confessed that he obtained 25 vials of ketamine from Sangha, which he later provided to his assistant, Iwamasa, four days prior to Perry’s demise.

According to prosecutors, Dr. Chavez consented to plead guilty to one charge of conspiring to distribute ketamine. He admitted to selling this drug to Plasencia and obtaining it through deceptive means. Specifically, he made false statements to a wholesale ketamine supplier and submitted a fraudulent prescription using the name of an ex-patient, without their knowledge or approval.

Perry resided in a secluded haven within Beverly Hills alongside Iwamasa up until only a few weeks prior to his unexpected demise; DailyMail.com has uncovered this information.

It was a 59-year-old individual, thought to be reliable sources close to the celebrity, who found the deceased body of Perry in the hot tub at his recently renovated residence on October 28.

For over a year, the actor chose to lease a scenic three-bedroom hillside property, which afforded breathtaking views of Beverly Hills and the ocean, at a monthly rate of $49,000. This decision came as his $6 million Pacific Palisades residence was being renovated.

He resided in a rental property alongside Iwamasa, a long-standing executive assistant responsible for managing Perry’s business matters over a span of more than two and a half decades.

The property owner, John Malakzad, recognized Iwamasa as someone who resides with Perry and keeps an eye on him.

It was DailyMail.com that obtained exclusive photos showing Iwamasa driving Perry (aged 54) in Los Angeles for various tasks, and also snapping shots of them exiting a residence in Beverly Hills in the morning hours.

Just over a month before his passing, the actor from Friends returned to live in his renovated home in Pacific Palisades, which he subsequently discovered by one of his personal assistants.

As his live-in PA, Iwamasa is believed to be the one to find his body.

On his LinkedIn profile, Iwamasa stated that he served as an assistant at a management level for Doug Chapin, Perry’s manager.

One of his listed positions is: ‘Assistant Executive, managing duties for 25 years and counting, for client Matthew Perry, a renowned actor, writer, and producer best known for ‘Friends’.

He mentions that he performs best in disorderly circumstances where organization is required. Furthermore, he’s known for his discretion, loyalty, and upholding strict confidentiality.

‘I love deadlines, contracts, dotting i’s and solving puzzling situations and projects.’

In the weeks leading up to his untimely passing, just a few days after celebrating his 54th birthday, Perry and I were spotted shopping hand-in-hand at The Grove in Los Angeles. This was according to DailyMail.com’s report at the time.

A member of Iwamasa’s family residing in Los Angeles informed DailyMail.com that the assistant had spent the past few months living with Perry. However, this family member hasn’t communicated with Iwamasa since the actor’s passing.

‘Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good?’ he captioned the post.

Perry’s autopsy report listed ‘the acute effects of ketamine’ as his cause of death.

According to the report, it appears that a large amount of the tranquilizing drug was found in his system, which may have caused him to lose consciousness and then sink beneath the surface of the hot tub.

According to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s report, factors leading to Mr. Perry’s demise were a combination of drowning, heart disease related to his coronary arteries, and the impact of buprenorphine, a medication used for managing opioid addiction. The manner in which he passed away has been classified as an accident.

At the scene, first responders disclosed that when Perry was discovered by his assistant, he was submerged in water. In a frantic bid for air, his assistant raised his head.

Upon the arrival of the Los Angeles Fire Department at my Pacific Palisades abode, I had already taken my final bow, a fact that was confirmed subsequently.

After a 15-second emergency call, details surfaced showing the instant when his assistant dialed 911, suspecting a heart attack might be occurring.

As an honest admirer, I’ve always acknowledged my previous battles with alcohol and drug addiction. However, in my latest conversations, I proudly declare that I am now living a life of abstinence and recovery.

In a memoir released the previous year, Perry shared that it cost him approximately nine million dollars to achieve sobriety. He detailed his extensive efforts, which included attending over six thousand Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, checking into rehabilitation facilities fifteen times, and undergoing detoxification sixty-five times.

Initial reports indicate that antidepressant and anti-anxiety prescriptions were discovered on the premises, however, no traces of illicit substances were detected.
