Matthew Broderick Reveals Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw Wardrobe Secret!
In a recent chat, Matthew Broderick offers a peek into the domestic side of his life with Sarah Jessica Parker, his partner from “Sex and the City”.
63-year-old Matthew Broderick, known for his role in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, who has been married to actress Sarah Jessica Parker since 1997, joined the Table Manners podcast hosted by Jessie and Lennie Ware on Wednesday.
Matthew disclosed that, in certain aspects, his wife mirrors the fashion-forward persona of her famous character Carrie Bradshaw – notably, her passion for apparel.
He mentioned that Sarah’s closet is larger than his, and then confessed that he too shares an interest in fashion – showcasing a collection of shoes covering an entire wall.
As a self-proclaimed shoe enthusiast, let me assure you, my collection isn’t just a pile; it’s a towering wall of footwear. It’s so vast, it might even make Goldie Hawn from ‘Overboard’ do a double take!
In our chat, Matthew opened up about collaborating with Sarah for the first time on our West End production and our late-night foodie escapades at a trendy London haunt. Furthermore, he got quite personal when discussing his one pang of remorse regarding James, 22, and our 15-year-old twins Tabitha and Marion’s upbringing.

The performer discussed their and Sarah’s West End production titled “Plaza Suite,” which continued through a 10-week stretch concluding in April 2024.
My wife and I haven’t collaborated much in the past, but surprisingly, everything ran quite seamlessly with the production of [Plaza Suite],” he acknowledged.
He found his time in London incredibly enjoyable, expressing eagerness to return for another performance, and suggesting an interest in potentially residing there as well.
He said: ‘I would love that. I love being there [and I] always feel a little bit like an outsider.
Actually, that’s kind of charming. You know, I tend to slip up with my phrasing when I’m in England, for instance saying something like “I live three blocks away.
However in a candid confession, Matthew revealed why the move wasn’t possible.
He mentioned that he wishes living there could be a reality, as he often ponders about it. However, due to the children not expressing interest in attending school there, it remains an unfulfilled dream so far.
We nearly attempted it with Plaza Suite, but it was their initial year of high school. They were hesitant to miss out on social activities and risk becoming less visible.

While attending the play at the renowned Savoy Theatre in London, Matthew mentioned that they soon discovered a preferred watering hole. Furthermore, he shared details about their post-performance dinners they indulged in during those late nights.
Afterward, he mentioned that they would head upstairs to the bar, though he couldn’t recall its name. However, you climb some stairs and find a stunning piano bar – the place we frequented often, reminiscent of New York. That’s why we always ended up there; it felt like a stone’s throw from where we originated.
After the performance, our stomachs would be rumbling quite a bit, so we’d grab whatever was available. There were tiny sausages, miniature egg rolls, bite-sized lamb chops on offer.
After the performance, we’d sample various treats, only to arrive home ravenous and consume even more food due to our increased hunger.
As a die-hard admirer of Sarah’s impeccable style, I couldn’t help but delve deeper into her closet mysteries upon hearing her fashion-driven revelation that her packed schedule kept her from attending this year’s Met Gala.
Over the past few decades, I’ve made it a point to be present annually at the New York Fashion Event, with my inaugural visit happening back in 1995.
It turns out that she wouldn’t be able to come earlier this month due to her need to attend to some professional obligations.
She shared with Entertainment Tonight, “I need to work, however, the sights are going to be incredible! I can’t wait to see all the amazing things everyone will do.

I’m eager to discover their unique take on the topic, as well as the tasks they completed for the project.
Previously renowned Sex and the City actress continues to express interest in the yearly gathering, serving as a charitable fundraiser specifically organized by the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute located in Manhattan.
This year, the theme was Superfine, which celebrated black fashion from the 18th century.
She expressed that she holds it in high regard and desires to genuinely acknowledge the efforts of the curators, as well as everyone who has inspired such an occasion for those of us fortunate enough to be present.
