Matt Zukowski has described his marriage to Tammy Hembrow as ‘scary’.
The model, age 30, and her husband, a well-known fitness influencer who is 31, separated last June, only a few months after getting married.
A preview for the Australian version of ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ showed Matt talking about his marriage.
“To be honest, I was definitely nervous about heading into the jungle,” the reality star admits in a voice-over.
‘But I’ve just got out of a pretty scary marriage, so how scary can this actually be?’
The trailer showed a blurred image of Matt walking through the jungle.
In a preview of the show, Matt confessed he doesn’t think he’s prepared for the challenges of the jungle, saying he hasn’t done anything in his life to get him ready.
I worry that people underestimate me and see me as just someone who looks good. But there’s much more to my personality and capabilities. I’m determined to learn and grow, and I’m ready to step outside of what’s familiar to me.
Matt was announced as the latest addition to the show’s cast on Tuesday night, joining former Married at First Sight contestant Cyrell Paule.
He recently admitted that single life is better than ever since his split with Tammy.
On his podcast, ‘Where’s Your Head At?’, Matt shared with co-host Anna McEvoy that he’s been enjoying keeping things light and casual while dating.
‘I’ve definitely never been happier being single. I’m enjoying that,’ he said.
He said he’s been on a few dates, specifically movie dates, and didn’t want to share any further details.
Matt and Tammy got engaged in December 2023 after just three months of dating.
The couple got married in November 2024, but rumors about a possible breakup started appearing almost a year before that.
In June, the pair announced they were divorcing after seven months of marriage.
There were rumors that Tammy was dating Australian Rules Football player Bailey Smith, but the 25-year-old, who plays for Geelong, recently stated they are just friends.
Matt has since said he felt ‘hurt’ watching Tammy move on so quickly after their break-up.
Let me clear something up – I was the one who ended the relationship, even though there’s been talk that it was Tammy’s decision. I wanted to set the record straight on that.
Earlier this month, rumors surfaced that Tammy and her former fiancé, Reece Hawkins, might be getting back together.
Sources report that the 31-year-old fitness influencer has been seen with Hawkins at a property owned by Tammy on the Gold Coast.
The couple dated publicly for four years, but they separated in 2018. They have two children together: a 10-year-old son named Wolf and an 8-year-old daughter named Saskia.
