Matt Zukowski has broken his silence on his ex-wife Tammy Hembrow’s romance with Bailey Smith.
The Love Island Australia star and her husband separated in June 2025. A month later, in August, Tammy, age 31, was seen kissing an Australian Rules Football player.
Thirty-year-old Matt was a guest on The Kyle and Jackie O Show Thursday, where he shared his surprise at how quickly his ex, Tammy, started dating someone new after their breakup.
‘I don’t think jealousy is the right word,’ began Matt.
‘I was doing my own healing process, and when I saw that, I was like, “Oh, okay.”
It’s upsetting to see a former spouse with someone new, he explained.
‘That’s a knife to anyone’s chest, man,’ he continued.
Matt then revealed if he was still in contact with Tammy following their split.
‘I haven’t spoken to her since we announced we were divorced. So, no contact at all,’ he said.
It’s probably not unique to me, but I thought getting married would solve our issues. Unfortunately, it didn’t – things actually got worse over time.
Matt and Tammy got engaged in December 2023 after just three months of dating.
The couple got married in November 2024, but rumors about their separation started appearing almost a year before that, in 2023.
In June, the pair announced they were divorcing after seven months of marriage.
Tammy was later photographed kissing the AFL star.
The Geelong Cats star appeared on the Today and insisted the pair are ‘just friends’.
He went on to explain that Tammy, who is six years his senior, has become an older, wiser mentor.
He said she’s become a good friend recently and is giving him some helpful advice, as he spoke during an uncomfortable conversation.
There were rumors earlier this month that Tammy might be getting back together with her former fiancé, Reece Hawkins.
Sources close to the situation report that the fitness influencer has been seen with Hawkins at Tammy’s home on the Gold Coast.
The couple dated publicly for four years, but they separated in 2018. They have two children together: a 10-year-old son named Wolf and an 8-year-old daughter named Saskia.
