Matt Damon spotted in Australia as US actor steps out for lunch with DJ Fisher on the Gold Coast

I spotted Matt Damon looking incredibly relaxed and happy this week while grabbing lunch on the Gold Coast with a well-known Australian friend. It’s always lovely to see celebrities enjoying some downtime, and he seemed to be having a great time!

Oscar winner Russell Crowe, age 55, recently visited Pipi’s, a seafood restaurant in Coolangatta, along with popular Australian DJ Fisher.

This week, Pipi’s Instagram page posted a photo of the celebrity pair with John Gambaro, the owner of the Gambaro Group and the restaurant where they had lunch.

Matt dressed casually for the outing, pairing a white T-shirt with a light pink, unbuttoned collared shirt.

He also wore a pair of shorts in a matching hue that finished just above the knee.

Fisher, 39, embraced a summery vibe with a pink and white striped shirt, which he wore open to reveal a bit of his chest.

Matt also wore a pair of brown chinos and accessorised with a pair of large tinted sunglasses.

They seemed to really enjoy being together, both smiling widely as Fisher gave a peace sign.

We were so happy to host @followthefishtv and Matt Damon at Pipi’s this afternoon! It was a pleasure sharing our Mediterranean food, the beautiful ocean view, and our warm hospitality with such great guys.

‘We’re grateful for moments like this and hope to welcome you back again soon.’

Matt, who often travels to Australia with his family, recently shared that he has a particular fondness for one Australian city.

I remember when Matt Damon was on Sunrise last year! He was there with Casey Affleck, and they were chatting about their new movie, ‘The Instigators’. It was a fun interview – they both seemed really excited about the project.

In the interview, Matt shared that he especially loves Brisbane, highlighting the city’s famous Ekka Festival as a favorite.

Honestly, it feels like she’s practically Australian at this point! Steve Hargrave even pointed it out – she’s at the Ekka all the time, it feels like every other year! I swear, she just loves Queensland, and I love that about her!

Matt said he’s gone to the Ekka several years running. However, he’s not sure if he’ll be able to go this year because he needs to return to the United States.

Matt then explained the festival to Casey, who was unaware of the annual event.

‘It’s awesome. I gotta bring him [Casey] to the Ekka,’ Matt said.

The actor said he’s typically the adventurous one, always riding the scariest attractions, while his family prefers to watch and cheer him on.

Matt explained that his kids enjoy making him ride the scariest attractions, especially since their mother won’t join them.

‘So I draw the short straw. They like watching me get whipped around on those things.’

The Ekka, officially the Royal Queensland Show, is Queensland’s yearly agricultural event and takes place at the Brisbane Showgrounds.
