After being fired from the CBS show Matlock due to sexual assault accusations made by co-star Leah Lewis, David Del Rio has retained prominent lawyer Shawn Holley.
According to sources at TMZ, 38-year-old actor, originally from Miami, recently hired veteran publicist Holley, 63. Holley has previously worked with stars like Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, and Lindsay Lohan.
On October 26th, Lewis reported a sexual assault to CBS, alleging it was committed by Del Rio on September 26th.
Sources say Del Rio was asked to leave the parking lot after the accusation, before he was officially fired.
CBS has confirmed that the character Billy Martinez will no longer be part of the show’s storylines. Viewers can expect to see these changes happen around the middle of the show’s second season.
Daily Mail has reached out to reps for both parties for further comment on the story.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, they have no record of a reported assault matching the claims made by Lewis, according to sources at TMZ.
According to sources at Variety, Eric Christian Olsen, an executive producer on the show, was one of the people who said goodbye to the actor when he left the Paramount Studios lot.
After news broke about her accusations against a colleague, Lewis shared a photo on Instagram with her mother.
Lewis shared a photo and wrote, ‘My mom is here, and we’re facing the future with love and support. I feel safe and cared for.’
‘Thank you to everybody for any kind of support and care.’
Lewis wrapped up in saying, ‘Truly, we’re moving forward in strength. Key word, strength.’
Del Rio’s wife Katherine Del Rio slammed his accuser in an Instagram Stories post.
She described Lewis as the most disturbing person she’d ever encountered, sharing the text over a close-up photo of him.

When Katherine made her posts, her talent agent, Patricia Boysen of the Boysen Agency, told Daily Mail they had no statement to release.
‘We wish Katherine the very best during this difficult time.’
The second season of Matlock premiered on CBS on October 12th, and the character played by Del Rio will be written out of the show later in the season.
As previously reported by Variety, production was already paused in October and November after the first part of the show’s second season was filmed.
Production is expected to pick up after Thanksgiving, sources told Deadline.
