As a dedicated Matlock fan who has grown up watching the series since its initial run, I must say, this week’s break is bittersweet. On one hand, it gives me a chance to catch up on other shows or spend time with family during Thanksgiving. On the other hand, I can’t wait to see what new adventures Matty and her team get into at the law firm.

Matlock won’t air new episodes for two consecutive weeks – first last week, and now this one as well. It’s understandable that there was no show on Thursday, November 28th, and I’m glad to share some positive updates with you here.

Tonight, I’m reveling in the Thanksgiving spirit! It’s all about cherishing moments with loved ones, either by cozying up to watch movies together or cheering for our favorite teams during football games. And let’s not forget about the leftovers – they make for a delightful late-night feast! Regardless of what we’re doing, it’s clear that traditional TV programming is taking a backseat tonight.

Tonight, CBS has chosen to air re-broadcasts of their Thursday evening shows. You’ll have the chance to catch a replay of the “Rome, in a Day” episode from Matlock, where Matty assumes her new position at the law firm and demonstrates her abilities as a lawyer, particularly when assisting a developmentally challenged teenager.

When will Matlock return with new episodes

The great news is that this is the last week of the planned break. Matlock season 1, episode 7 will air on Thursday, Dec. 5 at the usual time of 9 p.m. ET/PT. This also isn’t the last episode of 2024, as there is at least one more planned, airing on Thursday, Dec. 12. That could be the fall finale.

We’re heading into these episodes with fantastic tidings. It seems that “Matlock” has been given the green light for another season, which means Kathy Bates might have to delay her retirement a bit – but the part is certainly worth the wait!

What to expect in Matlock season 1, episode 7

When the series resumes, Matty will handle a case with a more intimate connection, as a woman is taking legal action following complications from a medical study. Given that clinical trials often require participants to sign waivers acknowledging potential side effects, this case promises intrigue.

In this pharmaceutical project, Matty is partnered with Julian for the first time. This collaboration provides her an opportunity to gain insights into his character and investigate the possibility of his involvement in the tragic passing of her daughter.

This year, Olympia is organizing the company’s Christmas bash, during which she uncovers some information about Julian. Is it possible that this revelation stems from her past marital issues with him, or could it be connected to Matty instead?
