The award-winning 1993 film *Schindler’s List*, directed by Steven Spielberg, is now available to stream in the UK, but it won’t be there for long. It’s also leaving another streaming service soon.
The movie is now available on BBC iPlayer, following its broadcast on BBC Two last week. Like many films shown on the BBC, it will only stay on iPlayer for a limited time – typically a few weeks – but it’s usually shown again later in the year.
The movie is currently available on Netflix, but it will be taken off the platform on October 21st, so you don’t have much time left to watch it.

You can also watch *Schindler’s List* on NOW and Sky Go, and it’s still available there at the moment.
The film tells the story of a Nazi who becomes rich by exploiting Jewish workers who have been forced from their homes. Later, he feels remorse and uses his wealth to help them escape as World War II nears its end and the situation becomes increasingly dangerous under Hitler’s rule.

Liam Neeson stars as Oskar Schindler, and British actors Sir Ben Kingsley and Ralph Fiennes also play significant parts in the film.
As a huge fan, I was so thrilled with the music in this film! John Williams, who’s worked with Spielberg countless times, composed the score, and it was absolutely deserving of the Best Original Score Oscar it won. It really made the movie!

Even though *Schindler’s List* is widely praised and considered a culturally important film, it doesn’t have a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics gave it a very high 98% rating, based on 136 reviews.
According to *Empire* magazine, *Schindler’s List* powerfully reintroduced the history of the Holocaust to a wide audience – its success in Germany is particularly noteworthy. The magazine considers it, and continues to consider it, director Steven Spielberg’s defining work.
According to *The New Republic*, Steven Spielberg’s direction in this film is the best of his career, surpassing even his previously well-received work, and they describe *Schindler’s List* as a masterpiece. The highly respected critic Gene Siskel, along with many others, named it the best film of the year.
Schindler’s List is available on BBC iPlayer, Netflix, and Sky/NOW.
