“Masterpiece” drama Sentimental Value confirms UK streaming release date

The highly praised drama Sentimental Value, featuring Renate Reinsve and Stellan Skarsgård, will be available to stream in the UK starting [Date – not provided in original text]. The film, which received numerous award nominations, is considered one of the best of 2025.

In the film, directed and co-written by Joachim Trier, Bill Skarsgård plays Gustav Borg, a well-known director struggling to connect with his daughters, Nora (Renate Reinsve) and Agnes (Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas).

Gustav reconnects with his daughters after a long period of distance while starting a new project. He asks Nora to be involved, but she turns down the offer. To her surprise, she then learns that Hollywood actress Rachel Kemp (Elle Fanning) has taken the role instead.

The film has received excellent reviews and is also a strong candidate for awards, including representing Norway in the Best International Film category at the 98th Academy Awards.

I was so thrilled when it got nominated for Best Costume Design, but honestly, I was even more excited when it started racking up nominations for the big awards too – Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay! And get this – all four of the main actors were nominated for their performances! It ended up with a total of nine nominations, which is incredible!
