MasterChef’s Julie Goodwin issues statement about her ‘shocking’ weight loss after fans expressed major concerns: ‘Looks sick’
Julie Goodwin has spoken up, clarifying the reasons behind her recent weight loss, addressing fans’ worries about her well-being.
On Instagram on Thursday, the ex-MasterChef Australia contestant posted an update following the release of a recent photograph on Wednesday that showed her looking noticeably slender. This image sparked concern among some of her followers who left comments expressing their worry.
As a lifestyle expert myself, I appreciate the heartfelt concerns about my wellbeing that many of you have shown recently. Rest assured, I’m in good health and falling perfectly within the healthy weight range as confirmed by my doctor.
For individuals seeking advice or guidance, please remember that it’s best to consult with reputable healthcare professionals rather than myself, who is just a TV chef.
If you’d like to share thoughts about my body appearance or condition, kindly do so on your own platform, as I find it tiresome to read such comments here. Consequently, I will be disabling comments for this post.

Julie suggested: “Let’s shift the focus of our conversations to something more engaging. Let’s also aim to instill kindness in our children and grandchildren, and let’s move past the fixation on physical appearance that was prevalent in the 1980s. Wishing you peace and love.
After a recent selfie she posted, people started asking if the chef appeared ill. This spurred her to voice her thoughts on the matter.
One fan remarked, “To be truthful, I was a bit taken aback, but if you’re okay and in good health, there’s no need for concern.
Oh dear Julie, it seems like you’ve lost quite a bit of weight, another person noted, as someone else expressed concern, stating, “Julie appears unwell and quite pale.
In another post, someone expressed concern and asked, “Hey Julie, everything alright with you?” They seemed to notice that I didn’t appear to be my usual self and offered hope that all is well, saying, “I hope everything’s okay, you don’t look quite yourself today.
‘She looks like a skeleton,’ one more person wrote, with yet another saying, ‘OMG you look so ill.’
One individual supported Julie by saying, ‘I admire how people assume she’s received vaccinations. I wager that she is taking good care of herself and consuming healthy meals instead.’
‘Omg Julie you look amazing! You have a beautiful smile. Keep shining!’ another said.

Another person added: “Let’s all refrain from commenting on Julie’s weight and suggesting she’s underweight. You’re merely imposing your personal ideas of what she should look like onto her. If Julie has consistently looked this way, no one would remark upon it.
‘Just be happy for her that she’s happy, her doctor’s happy, and she’s healthy!’
Recently, it was disclosed that Julie has shed additional pounds since her unexpected and significant weight loss of approximately 20 kilograms about nine years back.
On Instagram, Julie posted a selfie that showed her looking noticeably slimmer after her recent appearance on Sunrise.
Julie decided to let her gray hairs grow, embracing a more authentic hair color as she displayed her successful weight loss journey since winning the cooking competition in 2009.
The expert in the kitchen appeared slender while urging followers to sample her chicken pie, which is topped with a layer of baked potatoes.
In the photo, Julie kept her distinctive wide-framed spectacles on, even after her transformation, paired with a stylish black and white striped top.
In 2016, Goodwin disclosed that her significant weight loss wasn’t due to dieting and shouldn’t be seen as something to celebrate.

‘It’s not that I’ve gone on some stupid, sad diet and dropped a whole heap of weight in a hurry.
‘It’s not anything like that,’ she told Women’s Weekly at the time.
In the midst of managing my business, I find myself constantly on the move, often neglecting meals, which isn’t good for my health.
Julie reprised her MasterChef appearance in 2012 for the MasterChef All Stars series.
She went on to appear on Ten’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! in 2015.
Lately, Julie made an appearance during the 2024 season of Channel Seven’s popular program, Dancing with the Stars.
