MasterChef’s Declan Cleary reveals the shock way he found out his girlfriend Sarah Todd was pregnant

Declan Cleary shared the unexpected story of how he discovered his girlfriend, Sarah Todd (also a contestant on MasterChef Australia), was pregnant.

The chef told Daily Mail that she recalled a phone call where the woman said a dress didn’t fit, and she suspected she was pregnant.

‘So I just raced to the pharmacy and bought one of the tests.

She took the test, and when it came back positive, we were thrilled and immediately started making plans to move forward.

The 27–year–old went on to say that he’s always wanted to be a dad ‘for as long as I can remember.’

‘You always wait for the right time in your life and the right person to come into it.

‘I couldn’t ask for a better partner to do it with than Sarah,’ he gushed.

The expectant father also shared that he and his partner believe more families should be starting ones of their own. He said their child will be incredibly loved and raised in a warm, nurturing home with plenty of delicious food.

Declan has partnered with Amazon Australia to launch a unique treat: the Hot Chriss Pud. It’s a brand-new hybrid combining the flavors of a Hot Cross Bun and a Christmas Pudding, and it’s designed to be a festive conversation starter for Australians.

He jokingly mentioned the yearly debate about hot cross buns appearing in stores too soon, then excitedly talked about Amazon’s Christmas pudding.

‘It’s essentially a hot cross bun pudding that belongs on every Christmas table.’

Declan shared that he’ll be spending Christmas in Melbourne enjoying the traditional festive dessert. He’ll be celebrating with his pregnant partner, who is expecting a baby early next year, and her son, Phoenix.

The couple revealed they were dating earlier this year, after first connecting on season 17 of MasterChef Australia.

They announced in October that they’re expecting their first child.

The couple expressed feeling incredibly grateful and happy, knowing their child would be born into a world full of love.

Sarah and Declan said their home is already full of love and fun thanks to Sarah’s 14-year-old son, Phoenix, and Declan’s dog, Sol, and they’re excited to add another member to their family.
