This week, chef Julie Goodwin revisited her impressive weight loss transformation by sharing side-by-side magazine covers showing her before and after photos.
The 55-year-old MasterChef star shared the news on Instagram that she’ll be featured in the Christmas issue of Australian Women’s Weekly.
She shared a preview of the magazine cover, featuring a radiant Julie looking fit and happy while posing against a beautiful seaside scene.
I just loved Julie’s outfit! She wore a beautiful white top with delicate floral details on the sleeves, paired with a really pretty, flowing red skirt covered in flowers. It was perfectly fitted at her waist – she looked amazing!
She paired the new cover with her very first from 2009, highlighting her incredible transformation.
Julie shared that sixteen years ago, she was thrilled to become a columnist for Women’s Weekly magazine, and even more excited when she appeared on their Christmas cover, as she recalled in a recent post.

Even after all this time, I’m incredibly happy and proud to still be working with this famous magazine, and I’m especially excited to design their Christmas cover again.
Friends and followers quickly sent congratulations on the post, including a clapping hands emoji from MKR host Colin Fassnidge.
MasterChef alum Melissa Leong also chimed in with a pithy but supportive: ‘Yes, Jules.’
One fan commented, ‘You were beautiful then, and you’re still beautiful now! It makes me so happy to see you looking so content and joyful.’
Summing up the sentiment of many, a fourth offered: ‘The most modest superstar ever.
Julie, your story has inspired people all over the world. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. I hope you’re feeling as wonderful as you appear!
In August, Julie responded to fan worries about her health by publicly addressing her weight loss.
She posted an update on Instagram after people noticed a new photo of her where she appeared to have lost weight.

Her dramatic transformation led to comments from worried followers.
She expressed gratitude to everyone who reached out about her health, assuring them she’s doing well and is at a healthy weight. Her doctor agrees.
Okay, so everyone keeps asking me for health advice, which is… honestly, a little much! I mean, I love that you guys enjoy my cooking, but I’m just a TV cook! I’m seriously not qualified to give you tips on that stuff. Please, please go talk to a real doctor or someone who actually knows what they’re talking about. I just make food, okay? Good food, hopefully, but still… just food!
I’m turning off comments on this post because I’m tired of seeing negative comments about my body. If you want to discuss that, please do so on your own page.
‘For all of us, can we please find something more interesting to talk about?
Honestly, it just breaks my heart when I see people focusing on how others look instead of who they are. I really wish we could teach the younger generation to be kind, truly kind, and just… let go of that whole superficial thing. It feels so dated, like something from the eighties! I just want everyone to spread a little peace and love, you know?
Julie decided to address concerns about her health after people questioned if she was unwell following a recent photo she posted.
One fan expressed their worry, but added that everything is fine as long as you’re healthy and doing well.

People expressed concern for Julie, with one commenting on her significant weight loss and another saying she looked unwell and shocking.
Julie shared that she’s continued to lose weight after her significant transformation nearly ten years ago, when she lost 20kg in what she described as an unexpected way.
The well-known cookbook author first became famous nationally when they won the first season of MasterChef Australia on Network Ten in 2009.
