MasterChef Australia favourite latest to be eliminated after serving up an unpalatable spider

Beau Cook was sent home on Sunday’s episode of MasterChef Australia: Back to Win.

In the cooking competition back in 2012, the 40-year-old firefighter didn’t manage to win over the judges during the ‘challenge of childhood favorites’.

Beau’s dessert was an effort to replicate a cherished childhood treat known as a “spider,” which consists of ice cream and cola.

Yet, Beau incorporated an original touch into the dessert by blending rum, crushed roasted macadamias, vanilla ice cream, simmered sour cherries, and a cola-flavored icy granite.

However, the blend of flavors failed to impress the judges as they believed the dish didn’t successfully embody the enchantment of a genuine ‘spider.’

> Judge Andy Allen stated that while Beau’s dish was delightful, it fell short in capturing the nostalgic happiness we aimed to evoke.

Following the unsatisfactory decision, Judge Sofia Levin inquired if Beau had felt taken aback by his own performance during the contest.

Beau quipped, “I won’t be kicked out early,” and then continued, “The best parts have been spending time with these folks.

Reflecting on it now, I realize I could have created a fun and straightforward spider instead. If I had made a carbonated cola, dropped the ice cream in, that would have been much more playful and perhaps effective. I believe this approach might have helped me reach my goal, he shared with 10Play later.

Additionally, he disclosed plans to launch a refreshing, all-natural hard lemon drink called Wildpoint, made without artificial substances, in the month of July.

For me, crafting delectable dishes for my loved ones brings immense joy, but it’s not a profession I pursue. However, my ardor for culinary artistry and fresh ingredients has sparked a great enthusiasm within me as I embark on the creation of something like Wildpoint.

Last week, Samira El Khafir was eliminated unexpectedly. During that moment, she expressed her contentment about returning home.

The chef made eggplant chicken kofta but her dry meat let her down and led to her being sent home.

After the news was broken that she was heading home, Samira found a silver lining.

She jokingly replied, “Thanks! This is perfect. Today happens to be my husband’s birthday.” The cast chuckled in response.

‘This will honestly make his night, knowing I’m back to cook for him’ she added.

Samira went on to say that coming back to the show was a wonderful experience for her.

She expressed that one should never give up on anything, as the world offers endless possibilities for exploration and experience. Every moment she encountered during this process brought her joy.

‘I am feeling so happy and so blessed that I actually had this opportunity to come back’ she added.

I am deeply grateful for all that I have, and I’m incredibly proud of my achievements. Being a mother to four wonderful children is truly rewarding, and it’s an honor to take a break from my professional life once more to return to MasterChef for another round.

‘It was so beautiful. I’m super proud of how far I’ve come.’
