Massive changes come to Street Fighter 6 with the Elena update

Introducing a fresh face, Elena, the captivating Capoeira dancer, isn’t just making an impact; she’s causing a ripple effect. As she enters the scene, it triggers significant changes across the entire lineup. The dynamics are shifting dramatically!

It’s been some time now since Street Fighter 6 (SF6) received such a significant upgrade. Essentially, the game has remained in a state following Bison’s defeat, despite the addition of characters like Terry and Mai to the roster.

Street Fighter 6 continues to impress! The creators are adept at identifying moments when a little change in the metagame is beneficial – this helps sustain the enthusiasm within the Fighting Games Community (FGC). Furthermore, it’s an exciting time to gear up for the upcoming Season 3 DLC characters.

The significant update to SF6, dubbed Elena, encompasses changes to the battle balance for every character. For more specifics, check out the provided details.

Maintenance and patch notes: SF6 Elena update

The update for Street Fighter 6 is scheduled for the 3rd of June, as confirmed in an official announcement. During the seven-hour maintenance for the Elena update, there are expected to be numerous adjustments made!

The start time of the SF6 Elena update maintenance for different time zones is listed below.

  • 7 p.m. PT (US West)
  • 10 p.m. ET (US East)
  • 4 a.m. CEST, June 4 (Europe)

On this authorized site, you’ll find comprehensive details about the Elena Update in Street Fighter 6, available during the system upkeep time.

Elena joins Street Fighter 6

Based on the title’s apparent meaning, it seems that the update revolves around Elena, who hails from Africa and practices Capoeira – a dance-like martial art. Her techniques primarily involve diverse kicks aimed at confusing opponents and applying consistent pressure.

Originally featured in past Street Fighter installments, Elena possesses a unique trait – a powerful recovery Super move. In the latest Street Fighter 6 (SF6), players are given two options for her Level 3 Super Art finale: either restoring some of her health or inflicting additional damage on her opponent.

The full roster adjustments

Unlike TEKKEN 8’s Season 2, Street Fighter 6 has not veered off course with extensive gameplay alterations (thus far). Consequently, the formal declaration regarding this SF6 update doesn’t provide detailed explanations about the changes in the game. Instead, these modifications are kept under wraps, offering a delightful mystery for the community, rather than necessary adjustments.

The last such a big patch hit SF6 with the release of M. Bison, and even it wasn’t that massive.

Approximately a year past, Capcom rolled out an extensive update – the Battle Balance Update 2024. This update not only fine-tuned every character but also incorporated a new feature called Recovery Drive Reversal into the gameplay. Since then, the core mechanics of the battle have remained unchanged.

Outfit 3 for Terry, Mai, M. Bison, and Elena

With the latest update, four new Street Fighter 6 characters have been equipped with Outfit 3. These characters are all fresh additions from the Year 2 Character Pass.

In order to acquire Outfit 3 using SF6, you will have to spend 300 Fighter Coins. This is slightly costlier compared to the standard tiers of a Fighting Pass, like the Get Ready to Greet Elena Premium Tier, which can be found in the game store.

An exciting eSports tournament featuring big fighting games is scheduled just two weeks following the Elena update for Street Fighter 6. Top players will have the chance to display their skills on the latest patch at CEO 2025, which takes place from June 13 to June 15.
