Mass Effect 5 Won't Adopt Dragon Age: The Veilguard's Stylised Look, BioWare Says

As a seasoned Mass Effect fan who’s been through the original trilogy and countless playthroughs, I can’t help but feel relieved by the recent announcement from Project Director Michael Gamble. The photorealistic style of the Mass Effect universe has always resonated with me, adding an extra layer of immersion to the galaxy-spanning adventure.

It seems that the visual style of the upcoming game “Dragon Age: The Veilguard” has been refined in a distinctive manner. However, if you are anticipating a similar aesthetic for “Mass Effect 5” (or possibly “Mass Effect Epsilon”), you can put those expectations aside.

Michael Gamble, the Project Director, has emphasized that future installments of the Mass Effect series, under his leadership, will continue to adopt a more realistic style within the realm of science fiction RPG games, and he stands firm on this commitment.

In a recent tweet, Gamble shared his thoughts on the comparison between Dragon Age’s art style and that of Pixar. He respectfully disagreed with this assessment and emphasized that the visual realism in Mass Effect would continue to uphold the mature tone established in the original trilogy.

It’s unlikely that any of this will be revealed for quite some time. Rumors suggest that Mass Effect 5 might not surface until as late as 2029, but there’s a possibility we may get an update about the game on November 7th, which is known as N7 Day, the anniversary of the series.

I have reservations about the Pixar notion, but I firmly believe that Mass Effect maintains a photorealistic quality while under my control.
