Mason Alexander Park (Desire) shares excitement for The Sandman season 2

As a devoted fan of the enchanting world of Neil Gaiman’s “The Sandman,” I eagerly anticipate the return of Dream and his family, particularly the captivating Desire, portrayed by the immensely talented Mason Alexander Park. With season 2 on its way, it feels like we are standing at the precipice of a fantastical journey that will undoubtedly surpass our wildest expectations.

After numerous setbacks, Netflix’s “The Sandman” season 2 has finally completed filming this year. Now that it’s in post-production, we’re almost ready to watch Dream (played by Tom Sturridge) and the other Endless grace our screens once more with more captivating tales from the series.

Among the much-anticipated characters making a comeback is Desire, portrayed by Mason Alexander Park. Desire has a casual knack for being both cruel and disruptive. Throughout season 1, Desire frequently interfered in Dream’s personal matters, which resonated deeply with viewers. The excitement is palpable as fans eagerly await seeing what new adventures are in store for this character in season 2.

As an ardent fan, I can confidently say that we’re eagerly anticipating the upcoming Season 2, which seems poised to serve as the grand finale for the series. This season is expected to encompass the captivating story arcs of “Season of Mills” and “Brief Lives,” along with a selection of standalone stories penned by Neil Gaiman from the original comic.

In a recent conversation with WhatsOnStage, Park expressed his delight at being part of the extraordinary production of The Sandman, describing it as an unparalleled gift. Additionally, they couldn’t help but sing praises for their co-star Tom Sturridge, whom they consider to be one of the most exceptional actors they’ve ever had the pleasure of acting alongside.

In our conversation with Park in 2022, they shared their eagerness for a significant scene from the comic that they can hardly wait to unfold on-screen. Mason hinted, “There are many moments I’m eagerly anticipating in the comics, but witnessing the family reunited for the first time in ‘Season of Mists’ is particularly thrilling for me. It reminds me of the dynamic in ‘Succession’, and who wouldn’t want to be the center of attention at a dinner party like that!

This past Geeked Week provided fans with a sneak peek at season 2, offering glimpses of the renowned family dinner scene. Here’s the footage for you to watch:

37 years ago, on November 29th, The Sandman comics turned a year older, marking its birthday. Last year, on this very day in 2022, Netflix unveiled a sneak peek of Season 1 for the TV series. Could we catch our first glimpse at the upcoming episodes on November 29th this year? We certainly hope so!
