Legendary M*A*S*H star Loretta Swit has died at the age of 87.
Swit gained recognition for portraying the well-known character Major Margaret ‘Hot Lips’ Houlihan in a popular television show.
The actress died Friday at her home in New York City, her publicist Harlan Boll confirmed.
According to a police report, Swit was believed to have passed away from natural causes around midnight on Friday. Her publicist confirmed this information to The Hollywood Reporter.
The actress received acclaim for her role on the hit series, and received two Emmys for her work.
In total, she appeared on M*A*S*H for 240 out of show’s 251 episodes.
