Mary Fowler reveals baby plans with NRL player Nathan Cleary – as Matildas star looks toward retirement

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share my admiration for Mary Fowler, one of the shining stars in Australian football. Yet, beyond the thrill of the stadium, there’s another world that captivates her heart – the serene and peaceful realm of stables. She dreams, you see, of trading football fields for horse farms someday.

22-year-old forward on the Matildas team has shared her future aspirations with her NRL partner Nathan Cleary, which involve having children through both natural means and adoption, living in a countryside home filled with pets.

Presently healing from an ACL injury in England, Fowler shared her aspirations for the future with fans and discussed her plans to retire from sports during a frank interview on the Keegan and Company podcast.

Though over 17,000 kilometers distant from her homeland and without immediate or possibly future performances in Australia, Fowler expresses her focus on embracing a calmer lifestyle alongside the Penrith Panthers halfback.

‘I really want to have a big family,’ she said.

My current aspiration is centered around becoming a mother, having numerous children, and fostering an environment that encourages them to enjoy outdoor play frequently.

Instead of settling for merely a picket fence and a playset, Mary has grand visions. She dreams of a house where her future kids can delve into gardening, tend to farm animals, and frolic freely in the mud.

‘If I had the set-up for that, it would be a dream,’ she added.

As a passionate admirer speaking here, let me share that I, much like the charming Mary from the enchanting town of Cairns, envision myself being part of a sizable brood just like her loving clan consisting of Caoimhin, Seamus, Ciara, and Louise.

‘I would love to have two or three kids of my own and then adopt,’ she revealed.

In an ideal scenario, I’d prefer to adopt multiple siblings, as they could provide each other with companionship and emotional support. If it’s feasible, I’d love to welcome them all into my home. However, the adoption process can be lengthy and complex, so I’m not sure how many I could accommodate at once.

Amongst the Cleary family, Nathan, aged 26, takes the role as the eldest sibling. He has three siblings – Indiana, Milaya (also a sister), and the youngest, Jett.

But it’s not just kids the sports golden couple are planning on welcoming into their future home.

Besides Fowler, there’s a desire for an extensive and comprehensive shelter for animals, encompassing cows, goats, geese, a pig, and a majestic Great Dane as well.

She expressed her desire for a diverse collection of animals, chuckling. “It’s quite unpredictable,” she added, attempting to persuade Nathan that this was a sound plan.

Although her vision might appear quite different from that of an elite athlete or global celebrity, Fowler maintains that it’s the simple, down-to-earth lifestyle she’s always envisioned for herself.

What really matters to me is having room for a personal garden where I can cultivate my own produce, rather than being overly concerned with the appearance of the house.

As Mary progresses through her rehabilitation process following an April surgery for a ruptured ACL, her insights emerge – a significant setback that has temporarily taken her away from the field of play.

Despite the obstacle, she’s opting to view this as a momentary halt that has given her time to contemplate on what truly holds importance.
