Mary Cosby resumes filming The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City… one month after son’s heartbreaking death at 23

Mary Cosby is coping with the loss of her son, Robert Jr., by focusing on her work.

Filming of the Bravo show continued earlier this month, initially without one of its stars. However, she has now returned to complete the seventh season alongside the rest of the cast, according to TMZ.

Sources say Cosby intended to return to work as soon as possible, relying on her religious beliefs and support from loved ones to get her through it.

Producers reassured the star that she could work at whatever pace she felt comfortable with.

Police in Salt Lake City, Utah, reported that Robert Jr. died on February 23rd after responding to a possible drug overdose. Authorities are investigating his death, but the official cause hasn’t been determined yet.

As a lifestyle expert, I was touched to hear about the private funeral held for Bill Cosby’s son on March 7th. From what I understand, particularly from Cynthia Bailey of Real Housewives of Atlanta, it was a really beautiful and uplifting service, filled with a lot of love and positive energy.

Four days after losing her son, Cosby shared a childhood photo of him on Instagram, writing a heartfelt message. She expressed her grief, saying ‘I’m going to miss you, Bubs,’ and included emojis representing a heart, prayer, and tears.

She shared a heartfelt message along with Jessica Mauboy’s rendition of “Time After Time,” and finished it with the hashtags ‘#GodFirst,’ ‘#Love,’ and ‘#Forever.’

The cast members from her reality show, known for their ongoing conflicts, offered supportive comments.

Kyle Richards, from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, shared a heartfelt message, calling a photo ‘beautiful’ and praising Mary as an incredible mother who showered her son with love. She concluded with a wish that his memory would be cherished.

Chanel Ayan from The Real Housewives of Dubai shared a heartfelt message, saying he reminds her so much of you and will always be in your heart. She ended with ‘Love you, Mary,’ and a message of faith, saying both of you are in God’s care.

Kandi Burruss, Heather Dubrow, Whitney Rose, Cynthia Bailey, Gretchen Rossi, Lisa Barlow, Sheree Whitfield, Candiace Dillard-Bassett, Crystal Kung Minkoff, and Shamea Morton all expressed their heartfelt sympathy to the Cosby family.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is famous for its dramatic storylines, and now the cast is rallying around Heather Gay, whose son recently passed away after she had a feeling something was wrong for weeks beforehand.

Bill Cosby and his wife, Robert Sr., released a statement to the Daily Mail requesting privacy and peace following the death of their son.

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our son, Robert Jr. While we are heartbroken, we find solace in our faith and the knowledge that he is now at rest.

‘We are grateful for your prayers and trust in the Lord to carry us through this time of sorrow.’

Robert recently passed away, only a few weeks after being released from the Salt Lake County Metro Jail. He had been jailed for two months after admitting guilt to assault and breaking a restraining order.

According to his lawyer, Clayton Simms, Robert has said he deeply regrets his past actions and recognizes they were poor choices.

The show sometimes included glimpses into Bill Cosby’s family, and his son, Robert, made several appearances on the Bravo network over the years.

During the fourth season, Cosby discovered her son had secretly tied the knot with his girlfriend, Alexiana Smokoff. The wedding apparently happened in August 2022 at a courthouse in Utah.

The show also depicted Robert and Alexiana dealing with possible drug and alcohol problems. Alexiana filed for divorce in November.

Robert has faced legal trouble in the past and was arrested in Utah in September, accused of crimes like trespassing and assault.

Oh my gosh, I just found out he was arrested back in 2022! Apparently, he was driving under the influence, and to make things worse, he didn’t even have a valid license! The police said he was totally disregarding the rules of the road, which… honestly, still shocks me. It’s just… a lot to process.

He later pleaded guilty to the DUI charge.

In January, during the second part of the sixth season reunion of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Cosby discussed her son’s arrest and imprisonment.

She said she knew he was in a place where he wasn’t using drugs. While it was painful to watch him struggle, she believed he was learning important lessons and was relieved he was alive. ‘It’s hard seeing him suffer,’ she admitted, ‘but it’s better than the alternative.’
