Marvin Humes celebrates ‘new beginnings’ as he reveals he’s leaving his Kisstory radio show after two years to head to rival station

Marvin Humes announced on Monday that he’s starting a new chapter, leaving his job at Kisstory radio after two years to join a different station.

Jamie Laing, 41, currently hosts a weekday morning show, but he’s moving to Hits Radio to host his own chart-topping music program.

He will front the show in just two weeks time, appearing on the station from 1-4pm each weekday.

Marvin announced on Instagram that he’s moving on after two amazing years hosting on Kisstory, Monday through Friday. He’s excited to start a new adventure!

I’m incredibly grateful for all the support I’ve received from everyone who has followed along and been a part of this – it truly means a lot to me.

I’m thrilled to announce I’m joining Hits Radio UK! Tune in on Monday, April 6th for a special Top 300 Chart Show, and then catch me weekdays from 1 to 4 PM starting April 13th. I can’t wait!

He also mentioned he’ll continue to be involved with Kisstory, hosting a new show on Sundays from 4 to 7pm.

‘New beginnings. Same energy. Let’s do this!’

He’s now working at the station with his good friend Sam Thompson, whom he became close to while filming ‘I’m A Celebrity’.

Sam commented on Marvin’s announcement post and sweetly said: ‘welcome home.’

I just learned that Marvin recently shared the sweetest moment – his kids finding out he was the Can of Worms on ‘The Masked Singer’! It happened right after his reveal on the show, and honestly, it’s just heartwarming to see that reaction. It’s a reminder that even amidst the glitz and glamour, family is everything.

He shared a heartwarming video of his two youngest kids – eight-year-old Valentina and four-year-old Blake – finding out their father was participating in the show.

The sweet video showed Marvin, his wife Rochelle, and their kids all gathered together to watch the newest episode.

Initially, Valentina guessed the masked singer ‘Can of Worms’ was JB Gill from JLS. However, Blake unexpectedly revealed it was his dad, who pretended to be surprised.

The whole family excitedly shouted the show’s famous ‘Take It Off!’ chant when Blake and Valentina realized their dad was the one hidden inside the Can Of Worms costume, jumping up and down with joy.

Marvin shared a video on Instagram with the caption: ‘It’s open! Surprise! The worm is finally out of the can! What a performance! It was all worth it just for the kids’ reactions!’

Lots of Joel Dommett’s friends and fellow celebrities loved the sweet moment, with the host of The Masked Singer writing, ‘This is the best! You were amazing.’

Sam called them the ‘best family in the world,’ and Sian Welby shared her enthusiasm, saying she’d already watched the video twice and still wanted more.

Former The Masked Singer judge Rita Ora added: ‘This is soooo cute.’

After his identity was revealed, Marvin explained that he only told his oldest daughter, Alaia, who is 12, that he was on the show. He also chose songs that he and his kids all love.

That was everything. When I agreed to do the show, I wanted to be involved in all aspects of it.

‘My first song was Be Our Guest from Beauty And The Beast. It’s a big tune to be fair. 

After that, I watched Ghostbusters and then Temperature. Following those, I enjoyed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and ‘Pure Imagination’ is one of my all-time favorite songs.

My kids get so annoyed when I sing along to that song at home while we’re watching the movie! And then tonight, we did the Cha Cha Slide – it’s a classic, everyone loves it!
