Marvel’s Simu Liu lands new TV role

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for animated series and a penchant for Marvel movies, hearing about Simu Liu joining the cast of Gremlins: The Wild Batch has me absolutely thrilled! With his charm, good looks, and undeniable talent, I can’t wait to see him breathe life into Chang, a roguish bootlegger with a mysterious past.

Marvel star Simu Liu has landed a new TV role on the Gremlins series.

As reported by Deadline, the actor from Shang-Chi is set to appear in the second season of the animated series, which was initially titled Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai. He joined the show during its first season.

As an enthusiastic fan, I’m thrilled about “Gremlins: The Wild Batch” where the talented Liu takes on the charismatic character of Chang, a suave and dashing bootlegger. Hailing from one of San Francisco’s influential Chinatown families, Chang’s escapades have landed him in Alcatraz for an extended sentence. With my family believing me to be deceased due to my prolonged absence, I’m eagerly looking forward to unraveling this captivating narrative!

In my gaming world, a year has passed since the Mogwai secrets were unveiled in Shanghai. Now, it’s time for an exciting new adventure! Gizmo, Sam, and Elle – my gaming crew – are setting off on a journey from their hometown to San Francisco. Brace yourself for more enchantment, puzzles, and Mogwai madness! Let the game begin!

In an unexpected turn of events, I found myself joining forces with a trio. Taking on the role of their cunning navigator, I led them through the heartland of America, all the while seeking my own path back to the vibrant streets of Chinatown.

While tracking a fresh batch of malevolent Mogwai, our team encounters otherworldly beings as they delve deeper into the heartland of America’s Wild West.

As a long-time gamer and fan of classic films, I couldn’t be more thrilled to learn that Season 2 of my favorite animated series is set to premiere on October 3! The fact that John Glover, who played the eccentric billionaire Daniel Clamp in “Gremlins 2: The New Batch,” will be lending his voice as a guest star makes this news even sweeter. Having grown up watching Glover bring life to his iconic character, I can’t wait to see what he brings to the table in this new animated series. It’s always exciting when our childhood favorites make a comeback, and having such a talented actor on board is the cherry on top. Bring on October 3!

Although they haven’t disclosed his specific TV character, executive producers Tze Chun and Brendan Hay hinted that it might stem from the Clamp family lineage.

Notable cameos also feature Michael Paul Chan from The Goonies, comedian Ronny Chieng, the voice talents of Keith David (Rick and Morty), Will Forte, actress Kelly Hu (known for Deadpool and Wolverine), and Jimmy O. Yang.

The series is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey.
