Marvel’s Phase 7: Get Ready for the Most Anticipated Movie of 2028!
Marvel Studios has revealed that the fourth film of Phase 7, scheduled for release in 2028, could house one of the MCU’s most eagerly awaited productions. As we near the culmination of the Multiverse Saga, Marvel Studios is set to commence Phase 6 with “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.” Following this, the next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will wrap up in December 2027 with “Avengers: Secret Wars,” before launching into Phase 7 and what appears to be the Mutant Saga in 2028.
According to Variety, Marvel Studios has revealed a new film set for release on December 15, 2028, which will become part of their Phase 7 lineup. The studio has four unspecified dates in 2028 earmarked, likely for the debuts of the initial Phase 7 films and the continuation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe beyond Avengers: Secret Wars.
Presently, these unnamed Marvel Cinematic Universe films are slated for these specific dates. However, TopMob has some compelling guesses as to what they might eventually become, with the freshly-revealed December 2028 date being particularly intriguing. It’s important to note that at this point, nothing is set in stone. Some of these dates could change or even be scrapped altogether.

Moving beyond the world of “Sinners,” director Ryan Coogler appears to be focusing his gaze once more towards the Marvel Cinematic Universe and “Black Panther 3.” However, before diving into that project, he’s preparing to debut two Wakandan spin-offs on Disney+ this coming summer.
Scoper DanielRPK has subtly suggested that Black Panther 3 could potentially be released in February 2028, aiming to take over the previously unnamed slot scheduled for the 18th.
Actor Damson Idris has subtly suggested that negotiations might be underway for him to take on the role of Black Panther, potentially as an older version of T’Challa II. If this comes to fruition, Idris could lead “Black Panther 3” alongside Letitia Wright’s Shuri, assuming she continues to embody her character after the events of “Avengers: Secret Wars.

According to Variety’s report on upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe releases, it appears that Marvel Studios is developing a follow-up to this year’s “The Fantastic Four”. If the upcoming film “First Steps” performs well in July, the sequel might be expedited for release on May 5, 2028, which would put it roughly three years after the initial release.
It’s important to note that, similar to other rumored films on this list, plans can shift and nothing is officially confirmed as of yet. Potential new movies like “Shang-Chi 2”, “Thor 5”, “Doctor Strange 3”, and others could potentially be added to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s lineup for 2028, though the exact date remains uncertain.

It’s been speculated for some time that the Marvel Cinematic Universe might be bringing together its supernatural heroes in what is known as Midnight Sons. Previously, the Marvel Studios horror project had been put on hold, but it seems development has resumed following the separation with writer Michael Green, who wrote an earlier draft for Blade.
Additionally, it appears that Marvel Studios is considering Ghost Rider as the main character for the Midnight Sons team. There have been whispers that Ryan Gosling, known for his role in Barbie, might be chosen to embody this character. If this comes to pass, other potential supernatural heroes who may join the group include Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight, Mahershala Ali’s Blade, and Gael Garcia Bernal’s Werewolf by Night, among others.

This project could fit perfectly during the autumn season of 2028, but it remains unclear if it will be completed by then. Keep in mind that as of now, Midnight Sons appears to still be searching for both a director and a writer, unlike another MCU ensemble which has already secured these roles.
December 15, 2028
On December 15, 2028, a new entry will join Marvel Studios’ roster of releases, potentially serving as the launchpad for Marvel Cinematic Universe’s X-Men revival. Recently, Marvel Studios has taken steps forward with the mutants by recruiting director Jake Schreier and writer Michael Lesslie to shape this reboot, setting it up for a release in the ensuing years.
It appears that the widely speculated 2027 release of the X-Men reboot has been dismissed as “Secret Wars” has been pushed back to the end of that year. Since “Secret Wars” marks the conclusion of the Fox X-Men universe, Marvel Studios will then introduce their own mutants likely in the following year. A potential date for this new introduction could be December 15, 2028, which might be ideal.
Moving “Doomsday” and “Secret Wars” back to December 2026 and 2027, respectively, suggests that holiday seasons will be Marvel Studios’ equivalent of summer blockbusters. Given that the X-Men reboot is expected to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s major release in 2028, it appears that this film is planned for a Christmas premiere in 2028.
