Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Has Critics & Audiences in Agreement on Rotten Tomatoes

Marvel’s Daredevil has a rich history on television, starting with the original Netflix show and continuing with its recent revival. The new series began in 2025 and has just launched its second season.

The show, starring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, was well-received when it first came out, and that success continued with the new season. Since its release on March 24th, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has earned almost perfect ratings from critics and viewers alike.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Is a Strong Addition to the Franchise

Season 2 is getting great reviews, with a 95% approval rating from critics based on 56 reviews, and a 96% rating from viewers. These scores are even better than Season 1, which earned an 87% approval rating from critics (and a “Certified Fresh” label) and a 78% rating from the audience. While viewer scores can change, both critics and audiences seem to prefer Season 2.

The new show, Born Again, is receiving similar high praise to the popular three-part Netflix series. Critics and audiences both give it scores very close to the Netflix show’s 92% and 89% ratings – Born Again currently has a 91% critic score and an 87% audience score.

The show also performed better than Wonder Man, a highly-rated Marvel release that received 91% positive reviews from critics and 87% from audiences. Originally intended as a limited series, Daredevil: Born Again is now confirmed to return for a third season.

Maxance Vincent from Loud and Clear Reviews gave the latest season of Daredevil: Born Again a perfect 5/5 stars, calling it a brilliant television achievement and a strong follow-up to the popular Netflix series. Felipe Rangel of ScreenRant noted that the season begins with a slow build-up but culminates in an exceptionally exciting and memorable superhero episode.

Look, I really wanted to love the new season of Daredevil: Born Again, but honestly, it’s been a bit of a disappointment. Some critics, like Jeremy Mathai at SlashFilm, feel like the show tried too hard to be different from other Marvel shows and ended up stumbling. And Hoai-Tran Bui at Inverse put it well – it’s a season that’s sometimes exciting, but often just frustrating to watch, just like other seasons sometimes are. I was hoping for something truly special for the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, and it just didn’t quite deliver.

The review praises Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 as a gripping story full of surprises. Even when plot points are expected, the show delivers them effectively. According to Brooks, the series stays true to the original comic books while remaining a gritty and realistic crime drama that explores the lives of multiple characters, not just Daredevil.

Season 2 takes the conflict between Daredevil and Kingpin to a new level, especially after Kingpin becomes Mayor of New York City and starts a public relations campaign. Their long-standing rivalry is now even more intense. This season, Daredevil, also known as Matt Murdock, gets help from returning characters like Benjamin Poindexter, a.k.a. Bullseye (played by Wilson Bethel), and Jessica Jones (played by Krysten Ritter).

Jon Bernthal, who played The Punisher (Frank Castle), isn’t appearing in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. But don’t worry – he’s getting his own TV special that will premiere on May 12th, just a week after Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 finishes airing.

Daredevil: Born Again releases a new episode on Tuesdays on Disney+.
