Fresh leaks hint that Marvel Studios may be planning a colossal movie featuring the Avengers, X-Men, and Eternals, collectively known as a crossover. Currently, fans are eagerly anticipating _Avengers: Doomsday_ and _Secret Wars_, marking the end of this chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) narrative. However, Marvel Studios appears to be already thinking ahead, preparing for what’s next in Phase 7, which seems to go beyond the 2026 and 2027 Avengers sequels.
Some upcoming projects may feature a new “Black Panther” film, the debut of MCU’s X-Men, and a comic titled “Young Avengers.” However, discussions about what the original Avengers will do following the Multiverse Saga have been minimal. A recent rumor hints that their next adventure could involve another large-scale crossover event, potentially involving mutants and Eternals as well.
During one of his regular Q&A sessions, Alex Perez from My Cosmic Circus hinted that Marvel is working on a new project inspired by the popular “Judgment Day” comic series.
Upon being inquired about the MCU titles he’s most excited for, both those that have been announced and those yet to be revealed, Perez replied, “From the announced ones, I’m eagerly waiting for ‘Brand New Day’, ‘Doomsday’, and ‘Secret Wars’. As for the unannounced one, it’s ‘Judgement Day’.
Vexster: “What project are you most excited for and why?”
Alex Perez: “What has been revealed so far? ‘Brand New Day,’ ‘Doomsday,’ and ‘Secret Wars.’ As for ‘Judgment Day,’ we don’t have any announcements about that yet.”
Alex Perez: “What’s confirmed? We’ve got ‘Brand New Day,’ ‘Doomsday,’ and ‘Secret Wars.’ As for ‘Judgment Day,’ we haven’t heard anything about it just yet.
For the first time, there’s talk about a possible Marvel Studios venture called “Judgement Day”. If it comes to fruition, this project may serve as the sequel to the Avengers saga following “Secret Wars”, potentially setting up the iconic crossover event.
The event titled “A.X.E Judgement Day” unfolded in Marvel Comics from July to November 2022. It centered around a war that erupted between the Eternals and X-Men, triggered by the Mutants’ claim of supremacy over Earth. The Avengers tried to intervene, aiming to diffuse this powerful conflict, but instead found themselves caught up in it. This superhero war eventually involved all three of Marvel’s major teams going head-to-head.
Does Judgement Day Make Sense for the MCU?
It’s uncertain how the “Judgment Day” project might fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), but it seems like a fitting direction for the franchise to take following the multiverse reboot rumored for Secret Wars.
Even though the scope of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) might appear to shrink somewhat post-Multiverse Saga, it doesn’t imply that we’ll forsake epic Avengers-style narratives. I, as a dedicated fan, am confident that the MCU will continue to deliver captivating stories on a grand scale, just as they always have.
In my perspective, it’s absolutely intriguing to imagine the legendary squads from the series locking horns within this fresh, uncharted universe – a concept reminiscent of a grand-scale cinematic event such as “Judgement Day.

This is particularly relevant if it involves the three key teams from the Judgement Day comic series. So far, the Eternals, who made their last appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with their 2021 film, have not re-emerged in the franchise. On the other hand, the X-Men are rumored to take a significant role in the upcoming narrative.
After the rumored appearance of mutants following the “Secret Wars”, it’s understandable that there might be some tension, potentially escalating into an event akin to “Judgement Day”.
In simpler terms, pitting three of the most prominent teams from the franchise against each other might create an engaging story arc that expands the narrative significantly, without necessarily returning the franchise to its current multiverse-spanning scale.
