A highly-rated Marvel sequel will be among the first releases kicking off Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in early 2026. While Marvel has several exciting projects planned for that year, including major sequels like Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday, fans can still look forward to new content, including the latest series coming to Disney+.
The second season of Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Born Again premiered on Disney+ on March 24th, with three episodes currently available. Viewers are responding positively to the show, which has been completely reworked to fit within the storyline of the previous Netflix Defenders series. This revamp happened while Season 1 was already being filmed.

Season 2 of Daredevil is kicking things up a notch with a new, darker storyline – the first few minutes of the first episode alone feature several broken bones! Not only that, but some of the supporting characters, like Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, are getting more involved in the action than they were before.
Vincent D’Onofrio is back as the villain Wilson Fisk, and he’s more dangerous than ever. He’s involved in illegal gunrunning and has imposed martial law on New York City. Fisk’s task force, the AVTF, is also abusing its power, essentially having free rein to arrest and mistreat anyone they target.

The show is doing a fantastic job of both bringing back familiar faces and introducing compelling new characters, like the enigmatic Mr. Charles played by Matthew Lillard. This season is hinting at bigger connections to the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe than ever before, broadening the show’s scope and setting the stage for even more developments when Jessica Jones returns for her second season in the coming weeks.

The second season of Daredevil: Born Again arrives in 2026, continuing the story with Charlie Cox as Daredevil. He returns to protecting New York City while facing challenges from Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) who is now the mayor and still involved in crime. The show also stars Deborah Ann Woll, Matthew Lillard, and Krysten Ritter. New episodes will be available on Disney+ every Tuesday, starting at 6 p.m. Eastern Time.
Other Phase 6 Projects That Daredevil: Born Again Will Impact
Daredevil: Born Again Season 3

As expected, Season 2 of Born Again will lead directly into the events of Daredevil: Born Again Season 3. Currently in development with a projected release in September 2025, this series will be the first Marvel Studios live-action show on Disney+ to extend beyond two seasons.
Okay, so the buzz is that some characters we really loved from the old Netflix Marvel shows – like Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple – might be popping up in Season 3. But honestly, we’re still only halfway through Season 2, so don’t expect any concrete story details about that for a while. We’ll have to wait until Season 2 wraps up before we get a clearer picture of where things are headed.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Tom Holland will return as Spider-Man in a new movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, marking the fourth collaboration between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures. Set to release in theaters on July 31st, the film will also star Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Michael Mando, and Liza Colón-Zayas. The story will follow Peter Parker as he navigates a significant personal change and confronts some of his most formidable enemies yet.
The impact of Daredevil is clearly felt in this movie, especially with Jon Bernthal reprising his role as the Punisher. He’ll be a major character alongside Spider-Man, bringing a darker, more intense edge and challenging Peter Parker’s view of heroism. We also see Zabryna Guevara returning as Sheila Rivera, and her actions – awarding Spider-Man a key to the city – threaten Wilson Fisk’s position as mayor.
The Punisher: One Last Kill

Jon Bernthal is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and will lead his own Disney+ special, officially titled The Punisher: One Last Kill. Jason R. Moore will reprise his role as Curtis Hoyle, a character previously seen in the Netflix series The Punisher. The special will follow Frank Castle as he battles a dangerous crime boss, Ma Gnucci, while searching for a purpose in life beyond just getting revenge.
The story continues immediately after Frank’s escape from the AVTF prison at the end of Born Again Season 1, as he goes his own way. The new special premieres on Disney+ on May 12, and more information will be released soon.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2

I’m so excited for the second season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man coming to Disney+ later this year! I really loved the first season and how they told this different version of Peter Parker’s story with Hudson Thames as the voice. It sounds like Spider-Man will be up against some seriously tough new villains, and there’s even a chance we might see Richard Parker come back!
Even though this show isn’t connected to the Born Again series, they surprised us all with Charlie Cox voicing Daredevil in Season 1 and that fight with Spider-Man was amazing! Everyone’s hoping he’ll be back for Season 2, and honestly, I’d love to see that animated fight recreated live-action in a movie sometime!
