Marvel Studios Confirms 4 Main Villains For Historic Netflix Crossover Movie

Marvel Studios is planning a major crossover event in 2026 that will finally bring characters from the old Netflix Marvel shows into the big-screen Marvel Cinematic Universe. The popular Defenders saga, including heroes like Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), has already been reintroduced to the MCU, mainly through the Daredevil: Born Again series. While these characters appeared on Disney+, they hadn’t been in a Marvel Studios movie until now. The upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day film will change that, marking the first time these Netflix-originated characters will appear in a Marvel Studios feature film.

The trailer for the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie revealed that characters from Marvel’s Netflix shows will be appearing, most notably Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, the Punisher, and the organization known as The Hand.

When the Punisher appeared in the Brand New Day storyline, he teamed up with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man to fight crime on the streets of New York.

According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, Rosario Dawson is expected to reprise her role as Claire Temple—also known as the Night Nurse—in the upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This would be a return for the character, who previously appeared in Marvel’s Netflix series, and was reported in December 2025.

Claire Temple plays a recurring role in several Netflix Marvel shows as a nurse who often helps and treats superheroes and vigilantes. Fans have nicknamed her the “Agent Coulson” of these series due to her appearances in Daredevil (Seasons 1 & 2), Jessica Jones (Season 1), Iron Fist (Season 1), The Defenders, and Luke Cage (Seasons 1 & 2).

If Claire appears in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it would be her first time in a major movie and her first encounter with Frank Castle.

The trailer for Brand New Day revealed that Sheila Riviera, Wilson Fisk’s advisor from the Daredevil: Born Again series (played by Zabryna Guevara), will be in the movie. This makes her the fourth character from the Daredevil universe to appear in Brand New Day.

Boomerang

Okay, so I spotted Boomerang in the trailer – and honestly, he seems a little underwhelming. He’s definitely there, caught in one of those big action sequences with Spider-Man, but he doesn’t exactly come across as a major threat. He feels more like a background player than a real villain, if you ask me.

Boomerang is a villain in Marvel comics who fights using specially designed, sharp boomerangs. In the upcoming movie, he’s expected to have a smaller role, mainly to illustrate how busy Peter Parker is after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Tarantula

Tarantula is a lesser villain in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He’s a skilled and agile assassin from South America who uses specially designed boots with poisonous spikes to attack his enemies.
