Marvel Studios has announced its first Disney+ series scheduled to debut in 2027, with more potentially on the way. 2026 is already packed for the MCU with shows like Daredevil: Born Again, X-Men ’97, and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, plus premieres of Wonder Man, Vision Quest, and a special presentation featuring The Punisher. The series coming in 2027 will follow Avengers: Doomsday and lead into Secret Wars, and Marvel won’t release any new movies that year, having cancelled a previously planned July 2027 film release.
Disney+ has renewed Daredevil: Born Again for a third season. The first season is currently available to stream, and the second is scheduled to premiere in 2026. According to Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, the plan is to release a new season every March, as long as fans continue to watch and enjoy the show.
A Marvel executive announced that the studio plans to release new seasons of its animated and television shows on a yearly schedule beginning next year, and they consider this consistency to be very important. This means fans can expect regular updates to their favorite shows around the same time each year for the foreseeable future.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 – March 2027

The third season of Daredevil: Born Again faces a special challenge: it’s the only Marvel Cinematic Universe project set in the main MCU timeline (Earth-616) coming out between Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. It’s currently unknown if the 2027 season will continue the story after the ending of Avengers 5, or if it will be set earlier in the timeline.
There’s a possibility Daredevil: Born Again could continue beyond its current plan. Reports suggest Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio have contracts that could be extended for a fourth season if the show performs well. If this happens, the Disney+ version would surpass the length of the original Daredevil series on Netflix, which was canceled after three seasons.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 3 – TBD

During a recent interview, Brad Winderbaum explained that the animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will follow the same yearly release schedule as Daredevil: Born Again. Because Spider-Man has also been approved for three seasons, fans can expect its third season to arrive in 2027.
Season 2 of the show is confirmed to return in Fall 2026, with Season 3 expected around the same time in 2027. Upcoming episodes will introduce the character Gwen Stacy, escalate the conflict with Norman Osborn, feature more of Daredevil, and offer a first look at Venom.
X-Men ’97 Season 3 – TBD

The popular reboot of X-Men: The Animated Series is getting ready for a second season, where the X-Men will face off against the powerful villain, Apocalypse. This new season is planned to coincide with the release of Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, both of which are also expected to include different versions of the X-Men.
Disney+ has ordered a third season of X-Men ’97 before Season 2 even premieres this summer. A release for Season 3 is anticipated around the same time in 2027. At New York Comic-Con, Marvel’s Brad Winderbaum hinted that discussions are already underway for potential fourth and fifth seasons, suggesting the show’s revival of the classic ’90s cartoon could continue for quite some time.

6 Other MCU Disney+ Shows That Could Release in 2027

Marvel Zombies Season 2 (Likely)
The Disney+ series Marvel Zombies quickly gained a large audience and ended on a shocking cliffhanger. According to sources at TopMob, Marvel Animation is already considering more stories in the Zombies universe, and a second season could be ready to premiere in October 2027.
Wonder Man Season 2 (Possible)
Brad Winderbaum recently told Entertainment Weekly that a second season of Wonder Man is possible, but depends on viewership. If the comedy does well when it starts streaming on Disney+ in January, they could begin working on Season 2 with a goal of releasing it in late 2027.
Hawkeye Season 2 (Possible)
Following the debut of Hawkeye on Disney+ four years ago, there’s been renewed talk about a possible second season. Jeremy Renner recently hinted that Hawkeye might return, suggesting that if the financial terms are right, production could even begin as early as 2026, after he expressed dissatisfaction with his initial payment.
Vision Quest Season 2 (Unlikely)
As much as I’m hoping for more Vision Quest after WandaVision, it doesn’t look like Season 2 will arrive anytime soon. While it might start filming late 2026, Disney+ hasn’t even decided if they’re renewing it yet. That means a new season probably won’t hit screens until 2028 at the earliest, putting it firmly into Phase 7 of the MCU. It’s a bit disappointing, honestly, but these things take time.
Moon Knight Season 2 (Very Unlikely)
For years, fans have been hoping for a second season of Moon Knight. Although there have been rumors, progress seems stalled. While a follow-up season isn’t impossible, it doesn’t look likely at the moment, and it’s currently believed Moon Knight will next appear in a team-up movie within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Champions Season 1 (Very Unlikely)
Marvel Studios is reportedly working on a new Disney+ series called Champions, which would feature the MCU’s younger heroes. If the series is approved, filming was planned for 2026, with a release following Avengers: Secret Wars. This would likely mean fans wouldn’t see the show until 2028.
